i have 2 dogs 1 is a lab and the other is a pitbull. i've been feeding them science diet and medyo ayaw nga nila *** taste so what i do is i mix *** soup sa nilaga with their food, sometimes naman i mix diluted canned dog food and sometimes milk lagi naman nila nauubos *** food nila. I've read from a whole bunch of magazinesa sa science diet nga is the most nutritious dog food so kahit magastos ng konti because of yung halo basta my dogs get the best!

Ada and nikolai: Yeah, I believe it's PAWS nga. I'm not sure if it's a Ms. Sison, though. Basta she's an old mestiza from Makati.

Hello! I've had the same belief before that Science Diet is the best dogfood. While this may be true, you don't have to buy dogfood that expensive. I know breeders of champion rottweilers who feed their pets with dogfood like Diamond or Purina. They only use Science Diet or Eukanuba(which they say is 2nd best to SciDiet)when their pets are still pups, usually up to 1 year. They tell me that while food is important, other things(like exercise), must not be overlooked. They say that dogs, esp sporting & working types, need a lot of exercise. Exercise will help build up your pet's appetite and develop their muscles. Also don't forget to give vitamin supplements to your dog.

blackblade21: Sorry wala akong kilalang Maltese breeder! Have you tried calling PCCI? I'm sure they'll know. Let me know if you need their number. Medyo off topic 'to, but keep checking the thread nalang for updates! http://www.pinoyexchange.com/lol.gif At tama ka, malupit nga si WQ... http://www.pinoyexchange.com/crazy.gif

PolOshOsh: There are posts in the previous page (of this thread) discussing tick and flea control, as well as feeding and dog food. I had a toy poodle when I was a kid. I remember we had to have him clipped regularly. As for dog schools, there are a lot out there so just be careful. There are also some trainers who are not really associated with particular dog schools, but are qualified naman and will produce results. I think the main difference is may package sa dog schools (and usually a money-back guarantee yata) -- but it doesn't always mean you'll be satisfied. Anyway you can also inquire at PCCI. I used to show my Beagle so I had a trainer for the shows. But conformation yon, not obedience.

Does anyone have any input, or positive/negative experiences with particular dog schools? Share naman kayo!

    Question

ei guys...just want to ask...where can i get the frontline thing?!? the one that you guys say that is the most effective thing that we can use to remove fleas and ticks?!? where is it most available?!? and how much?!? sorry ah...medyo eh...ayoko nang maghanap eh!!! pero i would really appreciate it if you guys can tell me where...sana yung specific...wag lang sanang vet...coz probably not all vets have it...right?!? http://www.pinoyexchange.com/bop.gif

PolOshOsh: I just checked with Animal House and they have it. I think the Frontline Spray comes in 200/250 ml bottles. Meron din Spot-On Treatment ang Frontline (depends on dog's weight), good for 3 months. The vet there told me that the spray daw is good for one treatment for a German Shepherd. That is kung heavily infested yung dog. You use it kasi for the whole body. The spot treatment naman is okay daw for prevention. That's the one na nilalagay sa may batok ng dog (or between the shoulders yata). I think the spray costs about P900-950, and the spot treatment is almost the same din yata (but lasts for 3 months nga). Siguro meron din sa ibang pet supply stores, but for sure Animal House has it. I think they have several branches. The one I go to is the Pasig branch (Meralco Ave.), but they also have branches in Makati (Jupiter St.), Alabang and Quezon City (Aurora Blvd. I think). Anyway they're in the phone book...that's for sure! I think they also do Pet Grooming...

KingTriton: I don't think PAWS has a webpage. Okay yang site na yan ha! Dati I used to be active in dog shows but not anymore. Sorry I don't know any Great Dane breeders. I'll ask my friend, kasi he bought one before tapos sa akin pina-alaga, hehehe! http://smilecwm.tripod.com/net5/biglaugh.gif

nikolai: What breed did you show nikolai?? I was active in dog shows before also, but that was way back, i think 1990-1992. Our basset won one time in the show, he won winner dog, best phil born and best of opposite sex in breed.... sayang may points na kami para maging champ ang basset namin pero nag stop kami...

KingTriton: Talaga? I had a Beagle that I used to show kasi! So same group pala tayo (Hound)! http://smilecwm.tripod.com/net2/icon17.gif Pero I was showing him in 1995-1996 yata. He was the first Beagle in the Philippines na naging Grand Champion! http://www.pinoyexchange.com/love.gif Siempre I'm proud of him. Dami nga niyang trophies and ribbons here eh! I think first show niya (puppy palang siya) he won na Best of Breed, tapos he was also rated Excellent in those international shows. He earned his points rather quickly din. Kaso when I started competing in horse shows naman, I kinda had to stop going to the dog shows na. Conflict of schedule... Anyway nag Grand Champion na naman siya eh. http://smilecwm.tripod.com/net5/wacky.gif
