    Mabagal
    Libailities minsan both ends pa
    Injury prone
Di kaya i box out ang maliit skanya
    31 years old

Tama pero at the end of the day sana magusap sila ng sila lang at magkaayos.

    pure speculation brad.

We have to move forward. Greg is already 31. Tapos na. Done na. Okay tayo kahit ganito line up lang.

I'm sorry greg is soft.

Good vibes muna mga kabs.Update lang at nakita ko lang sa FB with Ginebra buzz we have a tune up game today against Alaska and the final score is 101-88.Talo tayo sa tune up game.
I hope Japeth will assume the responsibility as the no.1 option inside the lane while Pringle will the number option outside or even in offense.

  • cb36cb36 Member PEx Influencer ⭐⭐⭐
Tama kabs, mukhang may hangover pa ang team sa championship.First tune up game ng Ginebra yan after the chams while Alaska batak na batak na yan.
As per positive feedback all of them can hit the outside shoots and 3s.

Cone believes Slaughter not retiring from basketball for good

BARANGAY Ginebra coach Tim Cone believes Greg Slaughter will not be retiring from basketball for good following his decision to take a sabbatical.

Cone said he expects the Gin Kings' former No. 1 draft pick to return to the PBA eventually after the Ginebra big man indicated that he will take a break for "three to four months."

“I don’t think he’s out forever,” said Cone during the PBA Media Day on Thursday at the Okada. “I don’t think he is retiring. I think he really needs to take a mental break.”

The league's tallest player at a shade below seven feet, the Ginebra center took to social media to announce he's taking a break from basketball after his contract expired with Barangay Ginebra after 2019.

Cone said Slaughter indicated his desire to take a break during the exit meeting after winning the championship in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.

“It was more at that time, a consideration. But he said, I like to take a break for three or four months. This was literally two days after the championship. And we went into the meeting, I met with all the players … I have all these things prepared to talk about,” said Cone.

Cone admitted he was surprised at first when Slaughter brought up his intention to take a sabbatical.

“When I walked into the room with Greg, first thing he said was I’m going to take a break. That was our conversation. We didn’t get anything else done but that conversation. That’s the true honest story on what happened,” said Cone.

“I did know about it and he did mention three to four months at that time. I wasn’t sure if he is going to go through with it. And then, he went back to the States and then he sent the text,” said Cone, referring to the Instagram post.

“I texted him and he basically confirmed what he had tweeted.”

Criticism on social media weighed on Slaughter, says Cone

THE criticism Greg Slaughter has been receiving on social media had an impact on his decision to take a break from basketball.

This was the belief of Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone, who said he respects the decision of the former No. 1 rookie draft pick to go on a sabbatical in order to improve not just as a player but as a person.

Cone said he believes Slaughter also needs this break from basketball to clear his mind.

“I think he really needs to take a mental break,” said Cone on Thursday during the PBA Media Day at the Okada Manila. “He wasn’t treated well on the internet as we all know. I think that just kinda weigh on him and, more importantly, weigh on his family.

"I think that with the blessing and encouragement of his family, they want him to take a break.”

Cone admitted he was taken by surprise when Slaughter announced on Instagram his decision to take a break from basketball, even though he was already informed by Slaughter about such plan.

“He talked to me during the exit meeting. And he and I had talked about scheduling a meeting with upper management. There was mention that you need to tell to upper management. But I don’t know what happened after that.

"I think that when you are going to make a decision, you let everybody know before you let everybody know publicly. And that didn’t happen,” said Cone.

“But he did communicate to me and I communicate that to management after I heard about it. After that, it’s out of my hands,” said Cone.

Cone feels Slaughter’s decision to stay away from the limelight will be good for him in his desire to improve, both as a player and a person.

“As much as it hurts to miss him, this is going to be healthy for him. This is going to make him feel better and get him more prepared to play later on at a higher level," said the Ginebra coach.

"That’s what he has been saying, 'I need to get myself right and get myself better as a player and a person.' I’m all for it,” said Cone.

  • gins4lifegins4life PEx Rookie ⭐
as much as we all agree here that Greg is being so balat-sibuyas dahil sa mga nababasa nyang mga bad comments about sa kanya sa mga socmeds, we still have to respect his decision to take leave of absence for the lenght of period he alone knows. we may not be aware but who knows, these things he is undergoing/experiencing might lead to a severe "depression" at wag naman po sana. we all know that depression is no simple matter. maybe, nakakaramdam na sya ng ganun kaya in an instant yung desisyon nya, we may all never know. but i pervently wish na huwag naman umabot sa ganun. kaya sana let's understand him na lang. sana tigilan na mga below the belt na pagtira sa kanya sa lahat ng social media. lets just all wish him well, ke bumalik pa sya sa PBA or hindi na.

Dapat dyan i-hele at ipa-burp ni Alfrancis. I mean may mali sila pareho pero OMG what a baby! NSD ng NSD sa socmed tapos ganyan. :anguished:

Masyadong balat sibuyas si Greg. Bakit mo naman I-aallow ang sarili mo na maapektuhan ng mga bullies sa social media or the internet. He should know by now that it's part and parcel of what he's doing, hazards of the trade if you will. Celebrity ka, professional athlete at that. Or stay out of social media, idelete mo FB at IG mo. You can't stop people from criticizing you, as haters will hate and trolls wont go away.

Siguro may pagkukulang din ang Ginebra management by not extending help to re-assure Greg, pero as an individual, dapat prepared ka to face issues like this. I hope this "sabbatical" would make him a more matured person.
