hi. what are you thoughts about on removing excess gums? pano po ba ang procedure nito? pag nag ssmile kasi or tumatawa ako nasanay na akong tinatakpan bibig ko dahil sa sobrang kita yung gums ko. sinabi rin sakin ng denist to na maliit nga daw yung mga ngipin ko pero never minention yung surgery. so ask ko lang pano ba to ginagawa and mga magkano aabutin? naka braces rin ako. possible ba magawa ko or kailangan tapusin ko muna yung braces ko

^ Best to consult a Periodontist first. Before performing gingivectomy they will assess two things : 1. width of the Attached gingiva and 2. Biologic width. Hindi kasi pwedeng basta-basta bawasan ang gilagid.

Tulad ng ating hairline ang mga gilagid natin ay umuurong din as we age. Uurong din ang mga iyan eventually.

I know that this thread is all about braces but I can't find any thread about gummy smiles so let me apologize if thus woukd be off topic but like you I need help too. My teeth are small looking and I have a gummy smile and I want it fixed. Ca someone reommend a good dentist or ortho please, or PM me for details. Ty

@marcusdesagun143 tulad ng sabi ko sa itaas you need to consult a Periodontist. Hindi kasi ako Periodontist.

Hindi nga basta basta pwede bawasan ang gilagid ng pasyente. Titingnan ng Periodontist ang Width of the Attached Gingiva and also the Biologic Width. Titingnan kung pwede Gingivectomy ( yung gilagid lang ang tatabasan ) or Crown Lengthening (hindi lang yung gilagid kungdi mismo yung buto na bumabalot sa ipin ang kailangang bawasan ). Kailangan kasi after the procedure ay may matitirang Attached gingiva , hindi ito pwedeng ubusin. May protective function ito.
