Award-winning actor Nonie Buencamino (Ernie) portrays a 56-year-old closet gay judge in Ipaglaban Mo this Saturday (August 2).
As a respected Municipal Trial Court judge, Ernie was married to Carmen (Jackie Lou Blanco) with two kids. But their supposedly happy family life changed when Ernie came out and admitted that he was gay. He then filed a petition seeking the annulment of their marriage.
He claimed that he could not fulfill his marital obligations because of his homosexuality, which prompted his wife to have an affair with another man.
Carmen did not cooperate in the annulment case and insisted that Ernie could not be gay because they have two children. Backed by their children Carla (Beauty Gonzales) and Corrine (Sue Ramirez), Carmen filed an administrative case of immorality and dishonesty against him.
Whose side did the court take? Why did Ernie open up about his sexual orientation only when he was already a family man? Did he finally feel free and get his peace of mind after coming out?
Also joining the cast in this weeks episode, titled Ang Totoong Ako and directed by Eric Quizon are Alex Castro and Melissa Mendez.

Sneak peek: JM de Guzman's drama comeback

MANILA - After a year of absence from the limelight, JM de Guzman will make his acting comeback this weekend via an episode of the legal drama anthology "Ipaglaban Mo."
The 25-year-old actor portrays a port worker leading a labor rights protest in the Garry Fernando-directed episode "Ibigay Ang Aming Karapatan," which will air this Saturday.
De Guzman's last acting project was the comedy film "Ang Turkey Man Ay Pabo Rin" in 2013. On television, his last regular role was the titular character in the 2012 drama series "Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto."
In an interview on "The Buzz" that aired last Sunday, de Guzman explained that his one-year absence was due to problems with drug abuse. He has since entered a rehabilitation facility, and is set to finish a 15-month program to fully recover.
After more than a year of absence from the limelight, JM de Guzman finally makes his acting comeback on television via the hit legal anthology Ipaglaban Mo this Saturday (August 9).
In the said episode, JM (Andoy) plays a fish porter, who led 30 of his co-workers in a labor rights protest and filed a complaint against their employer for not giving them special pays and incentives despite having worked at the company for three years.
As a result, Andoy and his group were fired from their jobs, but they continued their legal battle. They sued the company again for illegal dismissal and violation of Article 118 of the Labor Code, which states that it is unlawful for employers to discharge any employee who has filed any complaint against them.
The Labor Arbiters took the side of the employer, but the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) reversed the first decision and ordered the management to give the fish porters their job back, pay their back wages, and grant them special pays and incentives.
However, the employer then filed a petition with the Supreme Court to junk the NLRC's decision. What was the final decision of the court in this case? Did Andoy and his co-workers find justice after the twist and turns of their battle for their rights?
Also joining the cast in this weeks episode titled Ibigay Ang Aming Karapatan, directed by Garry Fernando, are Yam Concepcion, Leo Rialp, Bryan Santos, Ketchup Eusebio, and Janus del Prado.

Vina Morales (Dra. Caren) plays a loving adoptive mother to Luis (Raikko Mateo), a child born with polio, in Ipaglaban Mo this Saturday (August 16).
Due to poverty, Luis biological mother Lisa (Desiree de Valle) left him at Dra. Carens clinic after giving birth upon learning about his health condition.
However, when Luis turned five, Lisa returned to reclaim her son. But Dra. Caren could not just let Luis out of her life since she had treated him as her own son.
Who between Dra. Caren and Lisa, the adoptive and the biological mother, has the right for the custody of Luis?
Also joining the cast in this weeks episode titled Ako Ang Iyong Ina, directed by Claudio Sanchez-Mariscal IV, are Tutti Caringal, Carla Martinez, and Johnny Revilla.

By the way, good luck kay Vickie M. na magtatangkang talunin ang Ipaglaban Mo.
