    Base sa research ni TS,pinakamahalaga talaga ang dami ng fans para maging superstar..besides,business is business.kailangan ang artista may mga loyal fans na willing gumastos.
    ~pero para sa'kin,ganito yan.
    *mass appeal/charm/xfactor= POPULARITY
    *talent(singing/dancing/hosting/acting prowess)= RESPECT
    ~a superstar must have BOTH.
    ~~~~~
    -bakit nga pala si nora ang tinawag na superstar?how about yung mga artistang nauna pa kay nora,anu-anong titles nila?
    -si vice nga pala,san siya ilelevel?
  • wedding_peachwedding_peach Archer/ Patriot PEx Influencer ⭐⭐⭐
    Para sa'kin ganito:
    40%-blockbuster movies
    30-endorsements
    15%-music(album,concert)
    10%-acting awards
    5%-successful tv shows
    (inuna ko yung ginagastusan ng madla.dyan kasi makikita ang hatak sa tao)
    ~Mahalaga din ang ibang media.example si regine.i believe she earned her superstar status not only because of her blockbuster movies.kundi dahil din sa pagiging asia's songbird niya.sa pagiging concert queen niya.sa pagkakaalala ko,isa pa lang acting award niya,pero di nakabawas yun ng pagiging superstar at movie queen niya..kung kaya naman nung artista ang lahat,bakit hindi di ba?di nila kasalanan kung talented sila.advantage nila yan..yan siguro ang dahilan kung bakit si nora ang superstar kasi na-conquer niya lahat.tv,music,movie at acting.
  • Ewan ko lang kung talaga bang mahina umintindi ibang tao o nagpapaka fantard lang. Sabi sa title MOVIE hindi commercial queen, hindi concert queen, hindi twitter queen etc etc.
    MOVIE QUEEN ang thread na to. Yung mga artistang may impact ang movie o sa tagalog ay pelikula. Bat naman nahaluan ng commercial, music at kung anek anek pa. Kung gusto nyo isingit idol nyo, gawa kayo sa labas na thread about concert queen o pinaka maraming commercial o pinaka malakas ang album sales at pina consistent sa pag puno ng concert. PERO ITONG THREAD NA TO, TUNGKOL SA MOVIE!!!
  • Sino ba ang sinasabihan ng mga ka contemporaries nila na magaling silang artista? Yung tipong ina acknowledge yung abilidad nila bilang actress? Dun pa lang makikita mo na kung sino ang ginagagalang at tini tingala sa larangan ng movie. Yung may impact bilang artista dahil markado ang pag ganap at atake sa movie. Sa history ng showbiz, sila ang tinatawag na queen. Yung walang ibang babagay at makakagawa sa role na ginawa nila kundi sila lang. Yung marami kang mababasa sa twitter na non fans na pinupuri sila dahil nagalingan sa kanila bilang aktres.
    Uulitin ko, MOVIE at hindi commercial o concert!!!
    With the exception of the late Carmen Rosales who reigned alone as Philippine Movie Queen in the ‘40s, the decades that follow documented the rivalry of two Movie Queens to the throne. It began in the ‘50s with Gloria Romero and the late Nida Blanca. While Susan Roces and Amalia Fuentes hotly contested it in the ‘60s. Then pandemonium broke loose in the close fight in the ‘70s between Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos. 1980s marked the clash of Sharon Cuneta and Maricel Soriano, followed by the stiff competition of Judy Ann Santos and Claudine Barretto. The 2000s have remained disputable for several actresses are contenders. Among them are Bea Alonzo, Angel Locsin, Marian Rivera, KC Concepcion and even Anne Curtis.
    It’s interesting to note the mentioned rivals from the ‘50s to the ‘90s are categorically in contrast with one another. One epitomizes sweetness and the other a most controversial figure. Those who fall on the former are Gloria, Susan, Vilma, Sharon and Judy Ann. On the other side, Nida, Amalia, Nora, Maricel and Claudine have been hot copies for their controversies.
    x x x
    The entrance of the year 2000 to this date earmarks the upsurge to fame of Bea, Angel, KC, Anne and even Marian whose starrers made a killings at the tills consistently. However, no formal declaration surfaces who’s the Movie Queen of this decade. On the outset, Bea seems to upstage the likes of Angel, KC and Anne whom the respective followers of the above mentioned has disagreed at. It’s anybody’s guess who will be the official Movie Queen of this generation and her nearest competitor.
    COMMERCIAL DRAW is a critical and important gauge for Hotness in a given time.
    However, a Movie Queen is also a Historical and Cultural Role.
    Nabago ba niya ang pananaw ng lipunan ukol sa mga bagay-bagay na kinasasadlakan nila. Naahon ba ng kanyang mga pelikula ang kalidad ng sining na maging pamantayan o aral ng mga susunod sa kanya sa industriya.
    Pagkatapos ng kanyang pamamayagpag, TUMATAK ba ang mga ginawa niya sa INDUSTRIYA at sa sumunod na henerasyon.
    In the final analysis, a Movie Queen should DOMINATE the Box-Office and/or Acting Derbies of the Entertainment Industry but more importantly must translate that clout to INFLUENCE/CHANGE Filipino Society.
    Quite a tall order, hence, as they say, many are called but very few are CHOSEN.
    @renz-sa mga nabanggit mo,sister stella l.lang familiar sa'kin dahil madalas banggitin dito sa pex.at madalas sabihin na magaling daw si vilma dyan..siguro ganun talaga.iba-iba pamantayan ng mga hurado.hehe..dun sa,kontrobersyal dahil natalo ni sharon ang mga mas bigatin.yan ang thinking na ayaw ko.parang inaalisan ng karapatan na manalo ang mga baguhan kapag seniors ang kalaban dahil pagdududahan agad.madalas mangyari yan ngayon.kapag senior stars vs young stars,expected agad na senior stars ang mananalo dahil pag ang young ang nanalo, magugulat,di maniniwala o sasabihan ng nandaya..sana mabago.unfair kasi hehe...teka parang O.T. na.haha
    actually, i like sharon na. i dont bash her anymore but for the sake of discussion ikukwento ko. wala sanang violent reaction dahil mabait na ako for sharon hehe. honestly, gusto ko siya ngayon as a person.
    kaya naging questionable ang victory ni sharon non and even on the wake of dolphy she mentioned it na parang dinamayan siya ni dolphy. kasi nga and to be honest, di ganun pang award ang mga movies niya na ito. i have seen sa hirap at ginhawa and so far the only movie ni sharon na napanood ko na nagustuhan ko. hindi ito ganun ka complex. sa dapat ka bang mahalin naman, di ko napanood ang movie, kaya naging questionable ito at sinabing ginapang ng mga handlers nila kasi naunang nanalo si maricel ng award at isa pang viva movie kung saan si sharon ang reyna.
    UBIQUITOUSNESS.
    During one’s prime, kung saan-saan na lang nakikita o naririnig to the point of saturation (sawang-sawa na).
    • In the News/Newsmaker
    • Magazine Covers
    • Radio & Print Ads
    • TV Commercials & Endorsements
    • Fan Mails or equivalent
    • YouTube Hits / FB & Twitter Followers
    • Tops the Polls/Surveys i.e. Magazine, Online
    At paglipas na ang kanilang sukdulang katanyagan, patuloy pa rin silang binabanggit:
    • Pop Culture Reference i.e. Songs/Other Movies/TV Shows
    • Quotable One-Liners
    • Idolized by Kids and Young Stars as Role Models
    • Remakes of Popular Movies/Roles
    • Restrospectives & Tributes
    • Lifetime Achievement Awards
    • Academic Reference i.e. Thesis/Book
    • Successful Come-Backs/Star Billing & Leading Roles
    Isa ring magandang sukatan ng pagiging Tunay na Reyna ay ang mainit ng pagtanggap ng masa at industriya sa pagbabalik ng isang bituin matapos mamahinga ng sandali man o mahabang panahon.
    • Consistent Inclusion in Industry Lists
    Lastly, perhaps the MOST RELIABLE INDICIA that one has definitely reached the APEX OF STARDOM is when one’s name is consistently mentioned in LISTS that span DECADES not just for a year.
  • MONTO GAWEMONTO GAWE Primus Inter Pares Pares PExer
    LISTS are notoriously personal and subjective so they must always be taken with a grain of salt and humor. If one agrees, fine. If not, make your own. It is a free world, and opinions, as a rule, are neither right nor wrong.
    However, a consistent appearance in these gazillion polls related to the industry is a clear indication of a Star’s stature and place in entertainment history. And if the collegial body and the individual persons involved in formulating the list are relatively unbiased and factual then the result is given more credence, value and authority.
    Still there never is unanimity in these undertakings and neither will there be among the public’s opinion.
    Here are some lists that are relevant to the discussion and need emphasis or reiteration.
    The 15 Best Filipino Actresses of All Time, drawn up by the Directors’ Guild of the Philippines Inc. (DGPI) through its president Carlitos Siguion-Reyna, as requested by Yes! magazine editor-in-chief Jo-Ann Maglipon.
    The criteria: The candidate’s choice of films; the impact, importance and legacy of her performance in these films; the consistency of excellence in those portrayals; and other important services to cinema in particular and to society in general.
    The DGPI officers who sat as board of judges included Joel Lamangan, chairman; Carlitos Siguion-Reyna, president; Emmanuel Borlaza, vice-president; Joey Romero, secretary; Mel Chionglo, treasurer; and Erik Matti, Maryo J. delos Reyes and Romy Suzara, board members.
    Here’s the Honor Roll (and some of the actresses’ memorable films), in alphabetical order (for the complete coverage, see the September issue of Yes! magazine):
    1. Gina Alajar (Bayan Ko: Kapit sa Patalim, Orapronobis, Salome, Brutal and Moral)
    2. Nora Aunor (Minsa’y Isang Gamu-Gamo; Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos; Bona; Bulaklak sa City Jail; Condemned; Merika; Andrea, Paano Ba Maging Ina?; Ina Ka ng Anak Mo; Sidhi, Bakit May Kahapon Pa?; and The Flor Contemplacion Story)
    3. Nida Blanca (Korea, Waray-Waray, Batanguena, Luneta, Ikaw Kasi, Miguelito and Sana Pagibig Na)
    4. Sharon Cuneta (Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?, Bukas Luluhod ang Mga Tala, Pasan Ko ang Daigdig and Madrasta)
    5. Rita Gomez (Reyna Bandida, Ganid sa Laman, Tatlong Magdalena, Avenida Boy, Pagdating sa Dulo and Larawan, the stage play)
    6. Hilda Koronel (Maynila: Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag, Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising, Angela Markado, Nagsimula sa Puso, Tanging Yaman and Crying Ladies)
    7. Elizabeth Oropesa (Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa; Lumapit, Lumayo ang Umaga; Nunal sa Tubig; and Bulaklak ng Maynila)
    8. Cherry Pie Picache (Sibak, Paraisong Parisukat and Bridal Shower)
    9. Lolita Rodriguez (Gilda, Sapagkat Kami’y Tao Lamang, Tubog sa Ginto and Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang)
    10. Gloria Romero (Dalagang Ilokana, Palaboy, Mga Anak sa Pagkakasala, Beloved, Eternally and Tanging Yaman)
    11. Rosa Rosal (Anak Dalita, Badjao and Biyaya ng Lupa)
    12. Vilma Santos (Burlesk Queen, Relasyon, Broken Marriage, Ikaw ay Akin, Miss X, Sister Stella L., Hahamakin ang Lahat, The Dolzura Cortez Story, Dekada ’70 and Bata, Bata, Paano Ka Ginawa?)
    13. Charito Solis (Kundiman ng Lahi; Angustia; Malvarosa; Igorota; El Filibusterismo; Ina, Kapatid, Anak; City After Dark; Kisapmata; and Playgirl)
    14. Maricel Soriano (Galawgaw, Pabling, Hinugot sa Langit, Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit, Ikaw Pa lang ang Minahal, Dahas, Mila, Mano Po and Abot-Kamay ang Pangarap)
    15. Lorna Tolentino (Moral, Aliw, Maging Akin Ka Lamang, Luksong Tinik, Narito ang Puso Ko and Mano Po 2)
    --
    Blogger's Opinion:
    The DGPI came up with this list but I cannot help but point out the glaring omissions of acting stalwarts such as Charo Santos (Kisapmata, Itim, Kakabakaba), Amy Austria (Brutal, Jaguar), Jaclyn Jose (Private Show, Takaw Tukso, Macho Dancer, Itanong Mo sa Buwan, May Nagmamahal Sa Iyo, Tuhog), Anita Linda (Sisa, Bakit Bughaw ang Kulay ng Langit?, Babae sa Bubungang Lata) and even Laurice Guillen (Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang, Ina Kapatid Anak, Kang Mangarap Ka't Magising, Sister Stella L.)
    queen of all media is not higher than a movie queen in my opinion. [/B]kris has limited success in the movies. massacre and horror movies and her tsamba acting awards sa mano po 1 (which in my opinion nadala lang sa hype but there is nothing spectacular don sa acting niya lol! improvement big yes, but acting awards? no lol!). kris for me is a part time moviestar hehe. but i really like her as a host. she's the best in this category at kaya kong tapusin ang show sa kadadakdak niya and not get bored. lol!
    makakalimutan ang pangalan ni kris when her time to fade comes, but the real movie queens will always be mentioned in showbiz history especially ang apat na movie queens, nora, vilma, sharon and maricel.
    the word ALL i think implies all forms of media and that includes movies.opinion ko lang po.
    pero kung ang dahilan mo ay dahil yon ang title ni kris,agree ako sa iyo.:D
    the title of kris will not last. di pangmatagalan at tingin ko di rin click. parang naging title ni sharon din kasi dati na multi media queen. pwede kay sarah, pwede kay toni g. so parang walang dating ang sa akin kay kris. gumawa lang sila ng title para magka title.
    siguro naubusan na sila ng title dahil so far hanggang diamond star lang nagwakas ang mga title na nag click.
    si judy ann, young superstar. ngayon di na siya young.. wala na siyang title. teleserye queen parang di pang movie queen.
    iyong optimum star ni claudine,heto ang maganda pakinggan.. sayang lang parang di masyadong nag click ng husto?
    Tapos na ang era ng "Mano A Mano" rivalries. The top tier is quite loaded nowadays. No preeminent figure.
    It's interesting that the most reliable star in drama and romcom in recent years has been a MALE.
    pwede pero kung titingnan mo ang dekada 70, loaded din naman. di lang naman sina nora at vilma ang sikat non, biglang sobrang sikat din sina alma moreno, may rio locsin pa, may lorna t. may hilda koronel. sino pa ba? but only nora at vilma emerged as the movie queens.
    nong dekada otsenta, sharon and maricel at sandamakmak na regal babies, seiko jewels. ito ang dekada na sobrang dami din ang sikat at namayagpag pa sina nora at vilma. pero maricel and sharon emerged as movie queens.
    sina judy ann at claudine ang natirang matibay nong last half of dekada 90. may angelu, may jolina. sino pa ba?
    ngayon, parang hindi na ganun ka solid. watak watak na rin kasi at wala pang hiraman ng artista dahil sa network war.
    According to the author, it is understandable that there are questions about Rosanna, Kris and Judy Ann’s claim to legitimacy as Movie Queens.
    In their own right, however, they are Stars who managed to carve their own niche in the industry. They all enjoyed commercial and critical success in varying degrees.
    In a capsule, he said of the following:
    1) Rosanna Roces: She defied the industry and rattled moral institutions. In a sense, she served as a mouthpiece of things that we can’t say or do. She held a mirror to what we are as a people. (She reigned as the ST Queen).
    2) Kris Aquino: She embodies the amalgamation of high society and hoi polloi or politics and showbiz. She is a paradox of what we are as a people. She is either loved or hated, either way, she affects her audience. (She is the undisputed Massacre/Horror Queen).
    3) Judy Ann Santos: She represents the ordinary, in looks and demeanor, and by extension carried with her the dreams and aspirations of the common tao. She is their new champion. (She is tagged as the Young Superstar).
    Tempo/Hernando’s List 25 Greatest Female Stars*
    Some issues back, Highspeed listed down American Film Institute’s 25 greatest Hollywood stars male and female, topped by Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn. The AFI list was given by Mario Hernando, film critic and entertainment writer, founding member of the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino. MH is also a member of the Movie & Television Review and Classification Board.
    Pol del Mundo, filmbuff, archivist, and former MTRCB librarian, requests Highspeed to come up with Philippine cinema’s counterparts. This column, in turn, asks for MH’s help and he obliges. Here’s MH’s list of the 25 greatest local female stars, ranked according to seniority and not necessarily preference.
    Unlike the DGPI’s List, I have no way of knowing how these two lists were arrived at.
    No set of criteria was published nor was the process revealed. There was no transparency as to their purpose or the qualification, motivation or biases of those who were involved in the selection.
    In other words, it could be just one man’s opinion which could be no better nor worse than our opinion. Dagdag kaalaman lang po.
