    i'm not a big fan of kenzaburo oe, but i have a copy of "A Personal Matter". the image of the father and son in this cover is simple and striking.

    that cover of "Again to Carthage" reminds me of this

    i love the way the letters and blank space seem to overwhelm the tiny figure of the runner. it's as if he's running in a place that's not here.

    the cover looks like it came from a picture of a newspaper clipping. i think it is iconic and greatly depicts the horror of the sarin gas attack. the victim (whose face we cannot see) with the addition of the black and white, grainy quality of the photo suggests that this could have happened to anyone.
