one good president will not make our country great, but a chain of good presidents!

I know, I know that it is not the president that makes a country great but the people inside it.

but without a doubt, whoever leads our country plays a big hand in where our country will go.

anyway, going back to the original topic, some people are always looking for a savior in one super president. unfortunately, no such leader has come to the forefront. what we need then is the next best thing, a chain of good presidents.

so i would like to propose that after Gloria Macapagal becomes president (only, if, of course), we follow her up with Mar Roxas, or someone seemingly as competent.

anyway, just my two cents.

and oh yeah, the golden age of the roman empire was ruled by five different emperors, some famous, some not, and look where it got them.

america was ruled by also a chain of good presidents in the beginning. washington, adams, jefferson, monroe, madison. so my opinion is we shouldn't put our hope in just one president, but in a whole chain of them. such that our country will become greater than it is right now, too. :)

    Good joke, joeydaninja.

I'm not even sure if the Philippines can make it through a couple more years of GMA.

    Juno Achtung, baby!
GMA? A good president? Right. She stinks of corruption.

    Mar Roxas? You're kidding, right?
  • Your "good president" will not be able to make this country great because her administration is tainted with excessive corruption.

The problem with FPJ is that he managed to force people to choose a "lesser evil" and embrace GMA as a good president. Many even OPENLY accept the cheating that took place over the possibility of an FPJ presidency. Values have become twisted. Morals are being compromised.

As each day passes, the "lesser evil" is turning out to be very evil because it consumes even the very principles of her supporters.
  • Alam mo tama yan. One of the reasons why the Philippines can't go forward is because we don't seem to produce a relatively good chain of presidents. Nagsimula yan siguro kay Marcos. He was good then he was bad. Up then down. Tapos nagrecover na rin nung si Cory, pero talagang magulo rin ang panahon at the time. But she did a good job considering the circumstances. Tapos si FVR. He did one heck of a job, and the country was on its way up. Then came Erap and we nose-dived again. Then came GMA, who did fairly ok. Parang Cory uli siya, trying to get things in order during crappy times. So talaga, these past few presidential terms, we've really had only one very good president. GMA's probably gonna win and I think she'll do an ok job. But I hope the next president turns out to be even better. Our country deserves it.
  • this country doesn't have continuity in its laws, programs etc. that's why we're always back to square one

Do you feel your Presidential Candidates lack the brains to do the work? It used to be a problem in Pinas before, but now no more. The abuMuadz School of Brain Surgery can improve the brain power of your candidate by a factor of 10 or more. Imagine them finishing a book of brain twisters in less than a minute!
  • unfortunately, 10 x 0 brain power is still zero. :)

The usual rules of mathematics do not apply to the procedures of the abuMuadz School of Brain Surgery. For example, you have 0 brain power. We would use Procedure 5943 where we add 10 brain power to your 0. Naturally, you will not retain all of it. Maybe 1.3 brain power. Next we would use Procedure 8945, where we successively add 0.5 brain power (we add 10 each time but you will retain only a small part of it) until you have your 10 brain power in due time.

That depends ... how much can you afford? We will take 5, 10 or 25 year promissory notes (that we will sell to a third party, of course) secured by real or personal properties (the note holder must be very interested in the collateral, which is 50% the appraised value, that is, half of the value of the current market value less all outstanding obligations against it, or no deal). If you fail to make a scheduled payment, we will take over the property and you make rent payments (computed at all loans) to us and we will not hesitate to kick you out. Don't worry, in due time, you will figure out that you will make a lot more money with the knowledge we will give you.
  • in others words we don't need a president that possess all the imperfections of a human being. perhaps cloning the future president of the philippines is the solution. it can also be an android as long as it's free from human fallibility.

Or the human being can be "cleaned".
