My nervousness causing Nausea

Hello,
I've had this ever since childhood, my "attacks" include fast heartbeat, my nose sometimes clogging up and I choke a lot.
This usually happen when I've got stress from reports, exams, interviews at school and at work(I'm having internship this year). Of course it's quite normal to be nervous in meetings and such but I don't think my body's reactions are normal, as I mentioned above I feel nausea & I choke. This is very frustrating for me as i've had this all my life.
I've been taking up sour candies to keep me from choking up and for my nausea to clear up a bit, it works but... I can't just eat those everytime in my entire life.
I have no idea what I could have, could be severe stress? or maybe all these years my mind has associated nervousness with nausea attacks.
I've been to EENT's and Internal Medicine doctors but none found anything wrong.
Can anyone help me with this?

Is it normal to feel like moving your bowel when you are nervous or excited about something? In my case, it is just not a feeling, I really tend to poo-poo when I'm overly anxious or excited.0

it's psychosomatic. merong physical manifestation yung psych disturbance mo like sabi mo nga when you're nervous. it doesn't sound really bad for me. many people have that, like sweating heavily when they have to speak in front of a crowd or di kaya may spasm or ung iba nga nag kaka lock-jaw pa. but it isnt normal. u should see a psychologist.0

psychologist? aren't psychologist & psychiatrists different? I believe my body's reactions aren't quite normal, I mean just by leaving our house I get those 'attacks', even at our own house for no reason at all, I made an appointment to a psychiatrist instead. He's checking me up this coming Sat.0

Elijah_A - Yes, psychologists & psychiatrists are different. Psychologists are scientists who study how the mind works. They finish a degree in AB or BS Psychology. Psychiatrists are doctors of medicine who specialize in diagnosing and treating mental disorders such as depression, phobia, anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders and the like.0

you re wrong, miss. one coulldnt (or shouldnt) call herself a psychologist (esp. clinical psychologist) til she earns a doctorate degree. like psychiatrists, psychologists also diagnose and treat depression, phobia, anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders etc. except that they don't prescribe medicines. though most of them have a good know-how of that aspect.
btw, depression and anxiety disorders per se arent considered mental disorder.0 -
and I think it's because of anxiety why I can't sleep everytime I have a job interview or exam.0

I have the same problem
. I think im having major anxiety disorder due to big time family problems. nd ako nakaka tulog. i hardly feel relaxed im always anxious and my heart lately beats faster than before. for the past 2months, 2x n nangyari sakin that I almost blacked out sa mall.... suddenly everything is blurry and nabibingi ako.. parang ung after k nag swim. maybe because puyat and gutom (im hyper acidic also). I had to throw up liquid then followed by cold sweat then magiging ok n me..
im considering seeing a doctor n... kaso... due to financial constraint... im not even sure if i can afford one.
im sure pag natapos n yung problem nmn.. i would feel a lot more better.0 -

hey thanks... might be.. :-/0

Sinus tachycardia means that based on your ECG, while your heart rate is above normal, it's not due to any anatomic abnormality. Decreased serotonin levels in the brain is a factor in the development of anxiety disorder, and you were most probably given an SSRI , a type of drug which increases serotonin levels in the brain, thereby decreasing your anxiety. Unfortunately, these medications are expensive anywhere in the world, but they are very effective and offer the least amount of side effects compared to other drugs in the market.0

Graduates of AB or BS Psychology ARE psychologists, but can't practice Clinical Psychology unless they earn at least a Master's (not necessarily a Doctorate Degree).
Depression (in the medical sense) and anxiety disorder (again in the medical sense) ARE psychiatric disorders. These have to fulfill certain clinical criteria to qualify as depression or anxiety disorder. It's not the simple "nadedepress ako".0 -

nangyari yan sa akin when I was in college grabee di ko maintindihan ang feeling sometimes pag sobrang panic ko ayoko ng nakatayo ng matagal kasi feeling ko may vertigo ako and its not that easy to cope I cant even go to the mall lalo pag maraming tao feeling nahihirapan akong huminga even sa church gusto ko parati akong nakaupo. I think the best weapon is prayer, lots of courage to face my stressor in gradual approach, water and deep breathing it really help and works for me.0
