There's a Red Spot on my Right Eye

I think it's a small subconjunctival hemorrhage. This is akin to a small bruise under the thin conjunctiva of your eye. Of course, I'm basing this on your description and not on factual evidence.

You can put warm compresses on your affected eye to hasten the absorption of the blood. Otherwise, you don't really have to do anything much.

If the subconjuntival hemorrhage gets bigger or you experience other symptoms (blurring of vision, pain, discharge etc), do see an ophthalmologist.

It depends on the size, actually. Generally, it should gradually resolve within the week, unless it's really big.

Subconjunctival hemorrhage occurs when a blood vessel on the surface of the eye ruptures and bleeds under the conjunctiva (the thin membrane covering the eye). This blood becomes trapped and is seen as red because of the thinness of the membrane. This is actually similar to a bruise. This may be due to any of the following:

- sudden coughing, sneezing, vomiting, heavy lifting, straining
- trauma e.g. finger poking, rubbing of the eye
- sudden increase in blood pressure
- sudden change in temperature
- spontaneous

The disappearance does not have anything to do with the spersadex. What the spersadex does is to prevent infection and bring down any swelling.

And...I hope you didn't self medicate. Spersadex contains a steroid so it has to be used under an ophthalmologist's supervision.

Nope. It's usually painless. Most patients don't even know they have it unless they look in a mirror or someone points it out to them.
