injury from badminton
hi doc
i have been playing badminton for almost 2 years now but recently, i'm having problems with my playing arm.
my grip seems to weaken and there would be a constant pain in my upper arm while playing, especially after a good smash. the last time i went to the courts (a week ago), i wasn't even able to go beyond my warm-up routine because of the pain, so i decided to put it to rest.
im not sure if this has anything to do with my new racquet (which I've only had for some months after my primay racquet broke). this is a bit stiffer than the old one, and with this, i usually feel the racquet vibrate when i smash.
anyway, what i really wanted to know is where to find a doctor that specializes with these kind of problem. (actually, i'm tempted to go back to acupunturist who was able to treat a previous problem after consulting with 4 doctor-specialists in the course of 3 months, without any progress)

rors: Calcium or whatever supplements won't help. You may have injured some soft tissues in your quadriceps area, so a few weeks' rest mayl do you a lot of good. If it's recurring inspite of rest, it's time to see an orthopedic surgeon.
Hi I am not a doctor but one thing i can share on this is probably the tension in your new racket is much higher than the old one that you are used to. Try to reduce the tension say 2 or 4 lbs lower. also take some rest first.
Also, you need to do some rotator cuff exercises to strenthen your shoulder muscles.
There are many kinds of knee injuries but the one that is common to badminton athletes is the Patellar Tendinitis or most commonly known as Jumpers Knee. YOu need to see an orthopedic doctor immediately so they can officially diagnose your situation. After that you will be recommended to have also a rehabilitation doctor that will give you a therapy program to streghten your knees.
TO strenghtten your knees you jsut need to do some exercises to strenghten the muscles around your knee area. These includes
squats,
leg flexion and extension all sides.
lunges
cycling
and other exercises related to the knee.
