The medical term for that is "uterine prolapse". It is due to weakness of the pelvic support holding it (muscles, ligaments, and fascia). In adults, it's usually due to obstetric trauma and lacerations sustained during labor and delivery. For children, it's due to a congenital weakness of the pelvic muscles, or problems with its nerve innervation. Symptoms include pelvic heaviness, tissue protruding from your vaginal opening, pelvic pain, low back pain, constipation, pain during sex, difficulty walking, urinary problems, etc. Symptoms typically become worse in periods of prolonged walking or standing, and relieved when lying down.0
