PINOY HISTORY

Kasama n'yang magiging hurado sina Gabby Concepcion, Nora Aunor at Brillante Mendoza.

“So many exciting things ang mangyayari sa akin and I will be going to the States in a few days,” ani Bea sa Instagram Live gamit ang GMA Network account kahapon.

“I can give my total one hundred percent to the world.”

    “Sana…”

Sa mismong contract signing, nagkausap sina Bea at John Lloyd via Zoom.

“Kanina, sinabihan ko na siya Zoom. Nasa Zoom pala siya, so I was so excited.

“Sa totoo lang, it was nice to see a very familiar face today,” dugtong ng aktres.

    MOVIE WITH ALDEN, PRIMETIME SERIES

“Exciting times kasi, after my movie with Alden, I might start the soap already sa GMA.”

Sayang.

“Pero excited na excited na akong sabihin. Kaya lang, sabi nila, that would call for another mediacon, yung announcement.

“Because it’s a very big title.

“But after my movie with Alden, that should start already, and it shall air soon sa primetime ng Kapuso network.

    “So, sana abangan ninyo ako.”

“I will work very hard to give you quality performances and to give you quality shows because you deserve it,” pangako ni Bea.

The search is on for Bea Alonzo's leading men now that she's officially with GMA Network.

The award-winning actress signed a contract on Thursday, July 1, to formalize her entry into the Kapuso fold.

Bea is excited with the prospect of working with seasoned and young Kapuso stars including Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Solenn Heussaff, Ruru Madrid, Julie Anne San Jose, among others.

As reported, Bea is slated to do a primetime series soon. Details, including the names of her co-stars and leading men, are still confidential at the moment.

But did you know that Bea is no stranger to working with Kapuso male stars? Over the years, Bea has occasionally collaborated with GMA male stars mostly on movie projects.

The Kapuso actor and Bea go back a long way. In fact, the two were launched simultaneously as part of Star Circle's Batch 10 alongside Alfred Vargas, Nadine Samonte, and TJ Trinidad, among others.

    Movie pairing

Bea and Dingdong were seen in the 2013 romantic-drama flick, She's the One.

“I feel blessed. I have done some really wonderful films with really good actors. I feel blessed with the opportunities I get and I hope I get to do more quality film projects in the future. There are so many more roles I haven't done, which I hope I get the chance to do,” Bea told the UAE-based newspaper Gulf News back in 2013.

    Good friends

Bea and Derek have worked on several projects after One More Chance.

The two were seen in the movies And I Love You So (2009) and Kasal (2018).

Both stars are good friends. They were also linked, a rumor that Bea finds weird and amusing at the same time.

Bea addressed the rumor in one of her vlog episodes where she answered some of the things people searched about her on the internet.

She continued, “Magkaibigan kami ni Derek, matagal na kaming magkaibigan because he was my leading man in three of my films. I also worked with him in 'Magkaribal' and no, we are not dating and we are not getting married.”

    Comedy tandem

The two stars exchanged wit in the 2011 comedy film, Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak!

“Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity. It was my pleasure to work with you. Thank you for all the bonding moments and all the kuwentuhans,” Vic told Bea after the film wrapped up production.

Vic added, “Thank you for laughing with us. You are a good actress and hoping to work with you again.”

Bea returned the compliment, saying, “I had a blast. Iba ang kultura, iba ang experience, plus most of them are all comedians. So walang dull moment sa set at mami-miss ko ang dinner namin sa set na almost every day.”

    Upcoming project

Bea and Alden are set to top-bill the Philippine adaptation of the Japanese TV drama titled Pure Soul, which inspired the 2004 South Korean film A Moment to Remember.

Viva Films, GMA Pictures, and APT Entertainment are co-producing the movie.

Super fan ako,” Alden said in March.

“Fan talaga ako ni Bea, especially 'yung Bea-John Lloyd tandem. Parang sila 'yung naging inspirasyon ko nung naging artista ako. Parang I want to follow in their footsteps.

“Tsaka tatanggi ka pa ba? Bea Alonzo yan, e.”

Bea, on the other hand, commented, “Ako naman, na-excite ako kasi when we were together for a commercial in Bangkok, pinag-uusapan lang namin 'to, e.

“I watched his movie with Kathryn and nung napanood ko siya, nandoon ako sa premiere night nila.

“In fairness, sabi ko, 'yung Alden parang ang galing, parang gusto kong makatrabaho 'yon.'

“So I'm excited na magtatrabaho na kami this time and actually nakapag-workshop na kami, and doon pa lang nakikita ko na how dedicated he is as an actor.”

Now that she's officially a Kapuso, Bea expressed her desire to work with Alden on television as well.
