- I feel Kobe will try playing overaseas. (Still has 1 yr uaap eligibility?)
- I think Baltazar still has 1 yr eligibiity playing in the uaap. But since Dyip and NP are top 2 picks, may enter draft (high chance playing for smc).
Everything is still fluid when it comes to the 2020 PBA Draft. We don't know if there'll be one, when it will be held, and who'll they allow to join.
We have to remember that the two major collegiate leagues will most likely have their basketball season on April, 2021. By then, the PBA would be in full swing. Two items come to mind:
1) Will the PBA continue with its policy of not allowing present college players to complete the collegiate season first before joining the league? If so, that takes away those players who are still eligible to play for at least one season with their school. If the PBA relaxes the rules, then these players can only join by July, 2021 or midway into the season.
2) Will the collegiate leagues continue with its policy of disallowing their players from suiting up for their respective schools if they formally apply in the PBA Draft? Given the circumstances though with regard to the change in schedule, will they relax the rules as well?
3) Will there be a cadet draft again? The likelihood is yes, but we still have to confirm this from the PBA bigwigs.
I really doubt if the likes of Juan and Javi GDL, Paras, Baltazar, and Rivero would apply in the PBA draft unless the PBA allows them to join midway into its season. Juan and Javi would most likely suit up for the UAAP season of 2021 and we don't even know when that will be. Paras may follow Thirdy's path in JPN where it's more lucrative. They may also opt to remain with Gilas given the opportunity of suiting up for the 2023 World Cup to be held here in Manila - a once in a lifetime opportunity. As such, a lot of these players, including those who were drafted in the cadet draft this year (Go, Suerte, Bulanadi and the Nieto siblngs) may only consider joining on 2024.
Which makes the draft picks for 2024 extremely precious. Except for Go, et al, who already have mother teams in the PBA, the core of Gilas that played in the 2023 World Cup would most likely join the draft. Imagine how good they would be by then, after spending 3 years with Tab Baldwin and playing against international players. Strategically, teams would jockey for draft positions come 2024 to make sure they get the best talents available.
I also feel that 2023 would be MVP's last basketball hurrah, and he'll retire by then, or delegate this to his underlings. He may also opt to give up the SBP perch to a younger personality as he would have accomplished his biggest contribution to PHL basketball - the hosting of the WC.
This is my mock draft: 1. Munzon - Dyip 2. Malonzo - Northport 3. Gray - NLEX 4. Thirdy - NLEX (Kung magpapadraft) 5. Laput - RoS 6. Rike - Magnolia 7. Muyang - Alaska 8. Brickman - San Miguel 9. Pasaol - Meralco 10. Johnson - Phoenix

Di ko pa nachecheck yung youtube vids nila Sadik. May isa pang magaling... Yung McKinney ata yun.

I agree with you on Baltazar, Paras, DL brother and Rivero. Highly likely they will remain in college.
As for Kobe, it's better for him and Gilas if he decides playing overseas. May even try G League.
