Ano Ang Hobbies ng Mga Post-Retirement Pinoys?
Pag-nagretire na ang isang Filipino, paano na buhay niya?
What type of hobbies will they be doing, participating on. creating?
Let's quantify the 'types' of Filipino because obviously the poor, the average, the fairly well off and the extremely wealthy would have different lifestyles.
Also not all 'retirees' are old, some of those that had medical issues or were fortunate to build income stream outside of "work", are also retirees.
My grandma became an ardent Jehovah's Witness and spent her retirement trying to preach the gospel (she also got into various "healthy lifestyle" fads including juicing), while on the other side of my family my grandpa bought a bike and did some solo and group roadtrips in the first few years after he stopped working. Both of them are gone now, but they're still cherished in memory.
I see a lot of old white/black American dudes, they wake up really early and they hang out in breakfast restaurants (or even fast food) and talk with their friends and watch the news. When I was in the hospital, I knew older ladies who volunteered to help nursing staff (they would do the non-medical things like help clean rooms, help put away laundry, help grab food for patients etc.) When I hike, I also see a lot of older folks, sometimes kinda weird because a lot of the older folks that probably hiked since they were young, some of them would wear 'bougie' kinda clothes like travel shirts and khakis (I think because in the US back in the day, they only had formal and casual clothes; much of the 'casual' clothes then, used for athletic leisures, are now considered semi-formal today).
So ano ba ang typical hobby ng mga senior citizens and or retired Filipinos?
Body building? (I see alot of old foggies at the gym lol)
Going to strip clubs?
Taking care of grandchildren?
Taking care of dogs?
Playing in a band?
Ball room dancing?
Surfing? (this is probably not typical but a lot of old folks that grew up surfing in Hawai'i, sometimes surf in retirement)
Ikaw pag retired ka na, hopefully, anong gagawin mo sa buhay mo? If I'm married (even if I'm not lol) I hope to travel. But honestly I don't want to wait to travel when I'm older, I'd want to enjoy it while I'm young. I also want to teach maybe. I like boxing so I might help volunteer teaching boxing/MMA (speaking of which I know someone who is volunteers teaching wrestling to kids here; he's not retired but close to it) to children or even older people in a public gym for free.
