EWBC Komo Digital Bank

East West Banking Corporation (EastWest) announces its newest venture in the digital race with Komo – a fully digital bank. This makes EastWest the first local universal banking group in the Philippines to launch its own fully digital bank, as it adopts its Retail Banking strategy to the times.
Offered through its fully-owned subsidiary, EastWest Rural Bank, Komo is the first of its kind. It is backed by an established and trust-worthy local bank while paying an annual interest rate of 3% for its Digital Savings Account with no minimum balance.
Established in 1994, EastWest is one of the fast-growing banks and has been among the more profitable banks in the country. This latest digital initiative is part of the Bank’s transformation program and commitment to keep innovating with changing customer needs and launching solutions that are seamless, secure, and reliable.
“Komo combines the best of two worlds: the convenience of modern digital banking backed by the security of a strong brick-and-mortar bank like EastWest.” Tony Moncupa, EastWest CEO, said.
He adds, “We see a digital future in banking. With Komo, our customers are sure to get the best that digital banking has to offer while being confident that their money is in good hands.”
“We would like to help accelerate digital banking adoption in the county. We hope that with Komo’s competitive rates, zero to minimal fees, and convenient platforms we can contribute to the effort.” Isabelle Yap, who leads the Komo Project said.
Last May 8, 2020, Komo received approval from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to launch its Digital Bank Services to the public. This marks the countdown to an anticipated product launch sometime in Q3 2020. With more details to be revealed soon, Komo is set to be a game-changer.

Nag-search ako ng "KOMO" sa google eto lumabas hehe.
How it began
EastWest Rural Bank as it is known today was established in 2013, after its parent company EastWest Bank merged two rural banking businesses, FinMan Bank and Green Bank.
Green Bank or the Rural Green Bank of Caraga had been in operation since 1975 and was one of the largest rural banks in the Caraga region prior to its acquisition. They had 46 branches and were one of the first rural banks to join the BancNet network.
FinMan Bank brought a significant contribution to the business as well, with 16 years of experience in the credit business, focusing on serving farmers, tenants, and rural companies.
Today, EastWest Rural Bank remains committed to providing financial services to the Filipino people. Not only does it continue to serve customers in physical locations all over the country, but it has also continued to embrace technological advances to adapt to changing customer needs. This commitment to serve customers better is what led to the birth of Komo, the first homegrown exclusively digital banking service in the Philippines.

What is Komo all about?
Why is the app called Komo?
Our goal is to simplify the lives of our customers by giving them full control over their money, because with Komo, kontrol mo ang pera mo—hence, Ko-mo.
Is my money safe with Komo?
Is my personal information safe with Komo?
How secure is the Komo app?
1) Fully Digital (it reminds me of Eonbank and CIMB Bank PH)
2) The website provides all the details about Komo. (I will give you more than five stars for this effort!)
3) Provides a Visa issued Debit Card (really reminds me of CIMB Bank PH)
4) 3% Interest offer which is a good thing (hope they add loyalty bonus and no withdrawal bonus savings)
5) Unlimited Free withdrawals at Eastwest bank ATM and plus free 4 withdrawals in other ATMs.
6) Detailed InstaPay and PesoNet instruction to transfer and receive (give 100 stars on this EastWest Bank you immediately enable InstaPay and PesoNet send and receive on the app)
7) A wide selection of Billers (I hope EWBC will add Robinsons Bank Card)
8) I love the debit card lock and unlock feature plus a dedicated hotline number. Wow!
Seriously my prediction is that EastWest Bank can Quadruple or higher Filinvest income once Komo goes live.
Suggestions:
1) I do hope Komo will provide lending as well soon.
2) Enable deposit or Cash in from 711 Cliqq Kiosk, Ministop, Lawson and Family Mart
3) Enable Bar Code generator for deposit via 711, Ministop, Lawson and Family Mart.
4) Komo Digital Credit Card if possible (maybe EastWest Shoppee digital card?)
5) Enable self password reset. I hope that Komo support has 247 Support
6) In App message Support
7) Referral Bonus (like bonus from RCBC Diskartech)
8) Opening Bonus (like bonus form ING?)
Well Done Komo and Good Job! May Job Openings ba kayo? Lol.
