7kg baggage allowance tips

edited December 2019 in Travel and Leisure
So how do you pack your baggage not exceeding 7kg when travelling overseas especially in Asia Pacific?

Minsan kasi even sa domestic flights I find it hard to pack up to 7kg only kaya I end up availing additional baggage allowance mostly intended for pasalubongs.

Wear all your heavy jackets when checking in.  Put some stuff in your pockets.

Before boarding plane, put everything back in carry on luggage.
  • kaya kung walang pasalubong - or sa duty free ka bumili ng pasalubong para hindi counted sa 7kg

then I but toiletries dun sa destination na, lakas makapagpabigat ng toiletries e.  Then I choose thin clothes na hindi nakukusot yung tela. Kung cold season, I bring a thick jacket na nasa arm ko lang (di kasama sa luggage) kasi isusuot ko din naman upon arrival

how long will you be travelling? you can bring lightweight clothes na di gusutin yung material. for jackets, layer it on top of your clothes or bitbitin na lang and wag nang isama sa carry on. for toiletries, i usually decant to small travel friendly bottles or bring sachets na lang. minsan dun na lang din ako bumibili sa pupuntahan ko.

^ I agree with some of the comments, yung toiletries minsan ang nakakabigat. Tama, at wag isama ang mabigat na jacket, bitbitin or suotin na.

To be honest, 7kg will not work if you're the the type na "ma-pasalubong", siguro kung isa o dalawa lang ung bibigyan mo, kaya naman.

I can always manage to have less than 7kg, damit lang talaga back and fort, di ako nag papasalubong, sorry naman. (or bihira).

I pack about 2 pants, 3-4 tops and 1 set of sleepwear -- all in ziplocks (to remove air), and then laundry on the third day. Not advisable for people who OOTD. Jacket is usually worn or separately carried. Powerbank, phone, wallet all in pocket, toiletries on mini bottles in a separate small bag that can be stowed below the seat. I usually do this on outbound flights only - I have luggage going back.

It is also interesting to note that your 7kg cabin baggage also has a factor in weight so choose a very lightweight cabin baggage in order to fill more items in your luggage.
