NU set to announce Goldwin Monteverde as new head coach.
DLSU set to announce Nash Racela?

With the promotion of Goldwin Monteverde, I assume Tamayo stays in NU

I think the battlefield will be better with Ateneo losing 5 main men (Matt, Wong, Thirdy, Mike, Isaac).

UST is still a force and contender. Ayo and the young core losing only Subido and Huang.
UP will stay in the hunt. Bright and co and the unknown confirmation of stars.
FEU will continue to be a darkhorse. Abarrientos + LJ. Can't wait.
DLSU shall have its seniors final run and a possible better coach. Balti + Aljun.
Adamson will get better. The Franz playoff comeback and the bluechip recruits.
UE could rack more wins with Diakhite and other new recruits.
NU will get better with a more polished system from Goldwyn and a star in the making Shaun.

For now, the following teams are sure of a Final 4 slot: UST ADMU

Might make the Final 4: FEU, NU, DLSU, ADU

    Small chance: UE, UP

Mas patayan pa pala next season.

UST needs to find their new Renzo. Emotional leader, pass-first tactical PG
ADMU needs to find their new Thirdy. FAST. Emotional leader, athletic as hell.
FEU shoo-in with Abarrientos entering the team/
Adamson will have Espeleta, Ahanmisi in their final year
NU will have more talent and with a good system, can win more games.

Dwight Ramos a 6'6 SF, Fornillos(IF he makes the team) and hopefully a Troy Mallillin who finally gets his act together can all be Thirdy's heir apparent. im also closely looking at Francis "Lebron" Lopez of the Eaglets, but he's only 16.. matagal pa to hihintayin.

Eli Ramos 6'3 player who can play all guard positions will clearly take Adrian Wong's slot same as Jason Credo who will get more playing time next year.

nobody is expecting another 16-0 .. maybe not within the next 10 years(i could be wrong though) but with Coach Tab on the helm, 4Peat is very much achievable.

I don’t think Eli Ramos will make team the next year. Too raw pa. Fornillos will make the cut pero malamang mag-ride muna siya sa bench to have time to get to know Tab’s system. Malilin would get the minutes. Actually he’s the prime replacement for Thirdy.

If his minutes this season are any indication, Mallillin has already figured out his place in the team. He already has an idea on what needs to be done defensively, but needs more confidence on the offensive end.

in the few moments Mallillin was fielded this season, he didn't look lost anymore. I'd expect him to be a consistent contributor next season and if all goes well could even make a star leap

I'd expect Daves to be much more potent next season too

^Just realized that the SF spot in Ateneo is up for grabs; everyone who used to be a staple for that position (Ravena, Nieto) are gone. Well, Jason and Troy are still there, but it's no like they got major minutes for that position.
  • Not expecting a 16-0 return trip in season 83 but final 4 is a day barring late injuries to Ange and SJ.  SJ without a doubt will inherit the starting pg spot being vacated by Matt.  Tab will probably give Mamu first shot at starting as sg like he did when Adrian was injured.  There are lots of scenario’s at sf.  Dwight Ramos can start with Troy and Inand getting minutes during the preseason.

Here he is a wild scenario that coach Tab may try during the D league or Fil-Oil.  Dwight gets a lot of minutes at shooting guard, Will moves down to small forward and either Daves or Pat at power forward.  That until has a lot of size and give opponents match up problems across the board.  The only hiccup, can they consistently shoot the ball outside.  Team will try to pound the ball inside while the opposition pack the defense inside and dare them to shoot from the outside.  It will be bombs  away for SJ but somebody else must score from the outside to keep the other side honest.

how good is Dwight's shooting? William has improved a bit from shooting this season finally making a couple of timely 3s (S81 greek freak was freaklingly frustrating from 3), I'm sure he'll take that confidence and further improve next season

I don't remember a rookie ever starting in the Tab era, if so Dwight has probably the best shot to do so with the SF opening

Dwight's natural position really is SG. He's around 6'4 or 6'5.
Si Eli naman is around 6'0 or 6'1 like SJ and Matt. And yes I've also been hearing that he's still raw.
Inand naman si smaller than Raffy Verano, but played as a PF/C in high school, so I think it will take a while pa for him to be effective at the seniors level.

Fornillos is small. Around 6' - 6'1 lang height niya but he plays like Perez and Abueva.  the reason why he opted to play first in Glory be was to be able to transition from playing forward to playing guard.

well tab has the whole of 10 months to get the uaap candidates in shape and familiar with his system, which incidentally should not be that hard since his assistant coaches run team b.

How soon can you forget.  Ange is only a second year player.  As a rookie in season 81, he was the starting center for majority of the season and basically shocked the whole UAAP.  Well, he did show glimpses of his immense improvement during the Jones Cup.

Dwight can not be considered a rookie.  He has already played 3 season of US NCAA basketball for 2 different California universities.  He is a grizzled veteran at that.

if Inand had the the outside range and consistency of Mike Nieto or Fetalvero, he would be a handful.  In this year’s preseason, he was a double double machine for team Glory Be straight out of Zobel.

 because Ange never played like a rookie (except for maybe his debut game)

do we have a designated shooting coach in the staff?

Oks lang yun, predicted UP out of Final 4, too? Haha.

Nagbabago yan and prior to the season, I already knew UST will be in the Final 4, along with UP and Ateneo.

Baka naman nung sinabi kong 7th kayo ay yung time na nagka-intriga yung sina Ayo with the sponsors (nasa thread nyo to, di sakin nanggaling yan) which was around Filoil time?

Kaya nga prediction di ba? Iba ang prediction sa informed choice. If a prediction is wrong, bat ka nagagalit? HAHAHA.

Syempre ako lang ang mamarkahan ninyo :P Lab nyo ko eh. :) Haha.
