Usually, simbahan of the affluent are situated near their gated villages.  The San Antonio Church outside Forbes and St. James  inside Ayala Alabang.

Security and convenience is what they look for.

You won't see signs like "Mag-ingat sa Pickpockets" there  =)

Santuario de San Antonio (Forbes Park) is a Chapel and not a Church

    Yeah sure whatever.

kung may naka illegally parked vehicle na malapit sa entrance ng quiapo church, one sign na mayaman yun. You'd be surprised to know that one trait that rich people share is that they are religious or that they believe in the existence of a higher power.

They believe na dyos ang nagbibigay sa kanila ng kayamanan nila.

Where I live, it seems like you are looked down upon when they know you are a member of a religious group or if you live in a community with high population of Christians. I don't know what's in Mormon but most liberals tries as much as possible not to live in a community/town with lots of Mormons. I pretty much consider myself a liberal.

I don't know, I'd take a Mormon town anytime of the day than a ghetto infested city.

    ------------------------------------------

So where you go to church is now a status quo?

I have not been to church for the past 5 years. Now, we're considering attending catholic mass, they have free activities for kids.

Ow shiy3t, I need to memorize the Apostle's Creed again

and it is not even near from what i have seen

the altars I have seen are Cathedral like with human size IDOLS with 5-15 IDOLS of Mama Mary and Jesus crammed together with all the minor-IDOLS. actually, a priest often visits them and gives them their own private mass.

FYI ... i also know someone who has a pipe-in audio connection with the subdivision chapel so he does not have to leave the house to hear the Mass at the Church.

there are 3 churches which I know, where the aflfuent and upper middle class are predominantly the mass attendees,

Santuario de San Antonio, (by common knowledge, being in Forbes, and as we only attended special celebrationa there)  but by actual practice, Mary the Queen and Santuario de San Jose in greenhills...where we met our grandparents to hear mass, before we ate and did grocery together in Unimart-Vira Mall on Sundays.

after they passed away,  sa mga SM and malls na kami nag si Simba..

but by architecture and interior, sosyal looking sana are San Beda, San Sebastian, Manila Cathedral, San Agustin, Santa Ana Church, and Mt. Carmel.

kaso their locations kasi are not for the rich communities anymore. maybe Mt. Carmel being in New Manila and other near gated subdivisions.

but who cares, blessed are the poor, theyd inherit the Heavens.

(pati simbahan ginawan ng sosyal thread  )

been there, thats in Bulacan....this province has a lot of activities for lent.....we sometimes went there during Holy Wed, to pray along the lifesize 14 stations of the cross on a hill, and the starting and end point was the Grotto....

after which, we stop by in one of Bulacan's lugawan for their famous lamang loob goto.
Good Friday pa naman fasting di ba.

then we'd go to Baliuag for the processions of their life size  carrozas.

then we'd take home some authentic baliuag lechon and chicharon...

it wasnt a long drive from Manila, but that was in the ealry to the late 90s when i was in elem and h.s. pa lang...then the traffic just got worse, medyo nakilala na sya...we stopped na and just stayed in Manila for visita iglesia.

we'd go there Holy Wednesday, tina timing namin sa Baliuag carozzas. para one time event na lamg in a day...so di pa naman ako nagkakasala sa pagkain ng goto...

we knew, pero parang entrance fee na lang isip namin for the 14'station, it was a nice experience kasi sa may kahuyan and hill talaga sya, so parang re living the real 14 stations.

yung church, hindi pa nagpapasok noon, makakasilip ka lang, but that was before kasi di pa sya tapos nun...

2 beses pa lang ako naka punta dyan sa Baliuag Procession 2013 and 2014 then di na nasundan paano kasi ang hirap pag uwian na kaunti ang sakayan going back to Malolos kaya sa Malolos Cathedral o Barasoian church na lang ako sumasabay pag procession. minsan napapaisip lang pag nag sisimba ako dyan sa Trinoma marami ring mga mukhang may sinabi ang nag sisimba dyan para kasing pag dating sa pananampalataya makikita mo pa rin ang pagkakaiba ng sistema parating may gap between rich and ordinary people!
