Friends Nadine Lustre and Sam Concepcion are set to work together on a big project for the first time, the dance film “Indak.”
In a recent interview, the two admitted they are both excited and nervous.
“We’re still in shock (we got the project) but we’re super excited because there will be a lot of dancing and a lot of production number,” said she who’s already planning what dance workshops to attend in preparing for her role.
“Indak” director Paul Basinilio said most of the numbers will be choreographed by G Force as well as other dancers who’ve competed abroad.
He said it will not be “typical dance movie.” The movie sees Nadine playing an island girl whose dance video goes viral. Sam’s character will chance upon the video and eventually meet the girl. They will join Indak Pilipinas, a dance group.
Sam said the core message is for people to go beyond boundaries and overcome struggles in life.
The movie will not only showcase the stars’ moves but their singing prowess too.
Paul hopes to release “Indak” in the summer of 2019.
“(But) we won’t start shooting unless the stars are ready,” he said. “We’re going to make sure of quality outcome.”
Will the two have kissing scenes?
“That’s gonna be really weird,” Nadine said, giggling. “FO (Friendship Over) na if that happens.”
Nadine was also asked about a lot of the blessings she’s been getting in recent months.
Despite all that, the star assured she and reel and real partner James Reid still have quality time for and with each other. The two star in upcoming flick “Pendro Penduko.”

"We requested for training, especially me.
"Well, the theme of the movie is very different and I think maha-highlight dito is 'yung dancing... It's going to be heavy dancing," sabi naman ni Sam.
There's a relationship, of course. Because this movie is your not just typical dance movie, it's a journey between the personalities also."

Bungad ni Paul, “The process of concerts and film is almost identical because I have to work with all the department heads, musicians and artists but filmmaking for me really focuses on the narrative and the character development.
“In concerts, though, since it is live, I don’t have the liberty of having multiple takes.
"Whereas in movies I can decide the flow during post production."
Paliwanag ng director, "Nadine is a very good dancer and Sam as well. I think they can do justice to the film.
"We will also hire foreign dancers and local dance champions for the film.
"The G-Force will play a crucial role in Indak."

MANILA – Fans who trooped to the Araneta Coliseum on Friday night to watch “The Crew” concert caught a glimpse of what they could expect from the upcoming dance movie “Indak.”
Showing off what they have been working on for months now, Nadine Lustre and Sam Concepcion took the stage together and collaborated for a remarkable dance number.
As seen in the video uploaded by the official Facebook page of the Big Dome, the two Kapamilya stars conquered the dance floor along with others who are also part of the film.
Since the short clip went online two days ago, Lustre and Concepcion’s dance video has already been viewed thousands of times.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News late last month, Concepcion said “Indak” has a lot to offer because “on top of the narrative, we put a lot of work in dance and training as a group.”
“We are supposed to be a dance crew and we have to dance like one. That requires a lot of training and dancing as a group so we are putting a lot of effort in preparing for those big numbers,” he said.
Does it compare to the Hollywood film “Step Up”?
“I wouldn’t want to compare it to that or associate it with that because it is its own thing. We have been shooting in Manila. We shot na in Cebu. We will be shooting in Korea soon,” he said.
Saying that they are halfway done, Concepcion said they are hoping to finish filming by mid this year.
