The new "The Score" with Mico Halili
Hindi na rin siya newscast. Iba-iba ang format everyday. Bet niyo? Gusto ko 'yung segments with basketball players like Joe Devance.
MANILA, Philippines -- “The Score,” the flagship program of ABS-CBN Sports+Action, will return in a new and more exciting format both on digital and television starting Monday, October 1.
Now anchored by veteran sports commentator and analyst Mico Halili, the new “The Score" offers a variety of sports content and experience to Filipino fans all over the world.
“It feels like I’m back home,” said Halili, who returned to the Kapamilya network earlier this year. “In my first two weeks here, I would always bump into someone I used to work with. It feels great to be home.”
Joining Halili in delivering the latest sports news, analysis, and features are The Score’s “Sports Squad" -- volleyball icons Michele Gumabao and Gretchen Ho, basketball legends Allan Caidic and Jimmy Alapag, and current stars Beau Belga, Joe Devance, LA Tenorio, Jett Manuel, and Jai Reyes.
“In the new ‘The Score,’ our promise is we will talk about the things that the fans are talking about -- what you’re thinking about, fighting about with your friends, debating with your friends,” said Halili.
“That’s our brand promise. You will feel that you are part of the conversation,” he added.
On Mondays and Fridays, sports analysts will discuss the hottest issues in the world of sports with Halili. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, he will go one-on-one with sports personalities, to reveal their stories behind the game. Thursdays are all about basketball, as Halili and his squad of professional basketball players share amusing conversations about the game.
“We’re very excited to bring ‘The Score’ further to the digital sphere, where we know our audiences love to watch their favorite teams and players, while interacting with fellow sports fans,” said Dino Laurena, head of ABS-CBN Integrated Sports.
“The Score" was first launched in 2014, during the reformat of the channel into ABS-CBN Sports+Action. Halili takes over as main anchor, after original host TJ Manotoc was assigned to join the ABS-CBN North America Bureau.
The revamped “The Score" will launch on Monday, October 1, at 1 p.m. on the ABS-CBN Sports YouTube channel and Facebook page, and at 6 p.m. on ABS-CBN S+A and S+A HD.
