    ADDITIONAL CARD

    SHARED CREDIT CARD LIMIT
    3. Dahil Shared CL na, hihilingin ka magpadala sa sulatroniko ng softcopied filled-up application form, IDs, at scanned consent letter that states you agree for a Shared Credit Card Limit (SCCL) scheme.
    4. Kapag natanggap na nila ang mga kahingiang dokumento, tatawag ang telemarketing at babasahan ka ng BDO Terms and Conditions para sa new card application. Then you agree sa T&C.
    5. Wait for new card application process. (Sana ma-approve ka).
    SEPARATE CREDIT CARD LIMIT

Road to BDO Diamond Rewards Status

Tapos kung gusto ninyong maging VIP sa BDO in general, choose to use either Platinum OR Titanium MC Visa Platinum, Diamond UnionPay para hindi nakakalat ang CC points to earned from purchase and this will lead you into BDO Diamond Rewards status.

Before i used all my cards from purchases but now ang BDO ang pangunahin ko. With the combine power purchase to earn points of my BDO Platinum MC, SM purchase points (SMAC) earned plus points from savings in just nine months, naging Diamond Rewards Cardmember ako.

You will not enjoy as early as possible ang mga perks and privileges.
Imagine banking hours up to 7pm and wide network of branches nationwide.

Again, this is based on my analysis study and experiences.

Ibahagi ko lang about this Inbox conversation (April 16, 2017) . . .

    AnonymousPEXer
Why did I say so? But with personal CI sa bahay (no calls verifications), self employed kasi ako at wala akong any relationship or transactions with BDO.
Sa spending, tadtad ginagawa ko. Stocks sa business and friends. Nasa P75,000 to P180,000 ang binabayaran ko in full every due date via over the counter and dominated ito ng straight purchases at no installments at all. Nagkaron lang mga isa o dalawa from SM Appliance at never sa ibang tindahan.
Kumbaga very quiet cardholder lang ako.
It became 7 figures CL on the 8th month. Hindi ako makapaniwala so I checked via online inquiry, kumpirmado at tugma sa text message. The past 4 months prior... halos 70 to 75% utilization ko sa CL.
I am 29 now. So six years worth of credit history.
Sa akin kasi, ang nangyari was Metrobank Platinum (5 years na Visa Classic then upgraded to Platinum) ang ginamit kong reference card. Nasa 450,000 ang CL nito noong ginamit ko ito as reference at never ako nagka-late payment or interest and very few instances of finance charges.

    Strong7Power:

    Thanks. I believe in you.

So I think, for the conclusion, para mapataas ang CL

-Be a transactor, pay in full amount and on time.

    -Never request for increase

-don't make any follow-up for applications

    -No installments; one-time transaction

Bayad naman on-time.

Wow! From P50,000 to P255,000. Salamat pala sa mga info. Salamat.

    AnonymousPEXer:

Yes tama kayo. Sana magtuluy-tuloy good relationship – ang bigayan ng CC at ICL. Ginagamit ko ngayon ang  BDO para panakot sa MCC (at kesyo mukhang sinusulutan sila thru these kinds of tactics kaya sana itugma nila ang alok) na nine-year-client na ako to get me the high limits and requests. Try that too vice versa nga lang. Mukhang mainit kalaban nila e.

    Bank Loyalty Program REVIEW:
BDO Diamond Rewards vs BPI Preferred Banking
    By gibsonfan

The two biggest banks in the country offer a "mass affluent" banking product for their clients. These are different from Private Banking products, which the two banks also offer. In this post, I'd like to compare the two banks' mass affluent programs - BDO Rewards Diamond and BPI's Preferred Banking (also known as "Preferred Client" or "Gold" by some).

    https://i.imgur.com/LSiKVD9.jpg

BANK OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS (BPI)
    Mall/Shopping Perks

As we all know, both banking groups are owned by the two biggest mall/shop operators in the country as well. Ayala for BPI and SM for BDO. Both banking products offer perks with both groups.

BPI offers automatic eligibility to be invited to Ayala Rewards Circle - Ayala's own elite shopper program. This is given for free for any top customer of an Ayala brand (in Globe, for example, Platinum subscribers get membership as well). BPI Preferred is one way to get in. There are no points in the program but you do get perks such as year-round discounts at shops, hotels, Ayala-owned car dealerships  and restaurants. You also get access to ARC's very own concierge service (which is very good, in my experience) to help you with all kinds of requests - reservations, trip assistance, etc. ARC also offers free lounge access to Ayala Malls lounges and paid restrooms as well as priority lanes in all Ayala Malls Cinemas (separate line for ARC members). You also get priority service in all Ayala brands (no need to line up at Globe, BPI, etc). Lastly, they also send out semi-regular invites to ARC members-only events - I've had invites for exclusive product launches by designer brands, talks/seminars, etc.

Here are the BPI perks (waived fees, discounts on rates, forex):

    https://i.imgur.com/dLDIzon.png

They used to be invite-only but they now have clear eligibility criteria as you see above. 250k in a single account.

    BANCO DE ORO (BDO)

BDO offers a tiered program actually via BDO Rewards. Emerald is the lowest while Diamond is the highest. For this post, I will be using the Diamond level as this is their mass affluent level product.

    Mall/Shopping Perks

BDO is owned by another large operator - SM. As such, its banking product is also tied in to SM's large network of malls and shops. The biggest difference here is that BDO Rewards has a very comprehensive points system. Any shopping you do at any SM affiliated store or partner store earns you points, which are valued at 1 point per peso. This effectively gives you a cashback rebate mechanism (at 1 point/200 spend at SM Dept Store for example, you get an effective cashback of 0.5% - very similar to what cashback credit cards offer, and this is on top of any credit cards points/rewards you get since this is a separate system). As a free component of the program, it's a no-brainer to always use your BDO Rewards card whenever you buy anything at SM. Their partners also vary - Uniqlo is partner as well as Shell Gas Stations. BDO Rewards also runs a lot of promo campaigns year-round tied-in with SM Advantage, the mall's own program. For example, they now have 2-3 PHP discounts at Shell stations per liter and they often run bonus points days. Diamond level members get all the perks that SM Prestige offers as well - access to Prestige lounges in malls, access to Prestige lanes at stores and groceries, personal shoppers, a separate secure baggage counter at lounges, and free gift wrapping. Diamond members also get invites to Prestige-only sales. During SM sales, Diamond members usually get first dibs since first days are usually reserved for Prestige. They also usually offer extra 5-10% discounts. SM Cinemas also offers separate lanes for Diamond members so you no longer have to line up.

Diamond also offers some exclusive perks such as free airport lounge access (also offering access to the elusive Pacific Club in T3, which only BPI Skymiles Platinum has). T1 access is given with an option of 2 lounges (PAGSS and Cub Manila).

The BDO perks are also not bad. Virtually all BDO transactions gets you points as well - deposits, paying bills online, loans, etc. They give you free checkbooks, manager's checks, waived fees, and the like as well. Perhaps most importantly, Diamond members are given priority whenever transacting at any BDO branch - just show your card to the guard/officer and they'll assist you right away. No need to line up. This is extremely valuable especially since BDO offers the only almost 24/7 branch banking in the country. Their branches in major areas like malls or casinos are open even on weekends and holidays. Having instant access to any branch on any day with no need to line up (mall branch lines are usually long) is a big plus for anyone who has a lot of banking transactions regularly.

    How do I get one?

    https://i.imgur.com/A6KERt9.png

BDO has a higher barrier to entry. At 5M for initial membership, you can already get access to the mass affluent programs of the country's international banks (Citigold, HSBC Premier), which have their own set of strengths, especially if you do a lot of overseas transactions. But depending on your needs and lifestyle, the 24/7 priority branch banking, easy access to branches (largest branch network) and SM perks may be more compelling.

    The Verdict

Both have their own set of strengths. ARC is a more unique loyalty program than SM's Prestige but does not offer any points-earning whatsoever. A large factor may be where you go more - Ayala Malls or SM Malls. One also has to consider that BDO has a much wider reach than BPI in terms of branches, especially in malls and weekends/holidays. BDO Diamond offers slightly more perks like airport lounge access. In-branch treatment is sort of better with BDO Diamond vs BPI Preferred in my experience. Some BPI branches don't have Preferred banking lanes (while some that do don't have a teller in them  ). With BDO Diamond, it's more discreet as well - you can go straight to any officer or manager and they'll handle your transaction behind the scenes. For some people, it's uncomfortable to transact at BPI Preferred lanes especially when you see a sea of people in the branch waiting for their turn.

I wish they start to offer better perks for both banks. Other banks are catching up - Security Bank Gold Circle gets you free ATM withdrawals anywhere - like HSBC and Citi. You can also open an account and do everything online - they send someone to your house/office to finalize it. EastWest Priority Banking gets you a FFL Visa Infinite credit card, which has a good rewards system.

In my case, I must say I prefer BDO Diamond more than BPI Preferred. The extra perks like lounge access at airports is a big plus, even if you already have it via other means - Priority Pass or credit cards like Amex Platinum. It's always nice to have a back-up. My own in-branch experiences also have shown me that BDO treats its customers well, especially Diamond customers, vs BPI, even if you are a Preferred Client of BPI. That said, BPI Preferred is still a good program. I keep it primarily since I still use the BPI mobile transfer facility to receive payments sometimes, it's still the most common bank transfer done among Filipinos I think. ARC is also not bad - but it's attainable via other means as well.

    * for those interested in Private Banking products, you may contact their units directly - BDO starts at 5-10M while BPI starts at 25M.

    KUWENTO. KUWENTO.

Can I Be A Credit Card User Again?
A Second Chance. Starting Over Again.
    Patotoo ni prich026
    prich026 wrote: »
The point of having this forum is to help others based on our own experiences. Dahil wala akong magawa ngayon, I decided to write this anecdote in the hope that people will learn from it... WARNING: MEDYO MAHABA!

I have been a BDO credit card holder for almost 4 years now. My limit started at 50K before it ballooned to sky-high numbers. But the road wasn't easy at all...

I got my very first credit card about 14 years ago. I was only 18. I was an auditor for one of the biggest banks in the country. So less than 3 months pa lang ako nagtatrabaho, I already had a card from Standard Chartered na 42K ang limit. I was young, foolish and impulsive kaya hindi pa nag-anniversary ang card, maxed out na ang limit at baon na ako sa utang. I was financially immature and uneducated - instead of working on how to settle my bills, nag-apply pa ako ng ibang cards to augment my lifestyle. Before pa ako mag-1 year sa trabaho, I had 5 more credit cards - Citibank, HSBC, Unionbank, AIG and EastWest Bank. And just like my first card, mabilis ko din na-max out.

On my 3rd year as a cardholder, nagkasimula na akong magkaproblema financially. Ilang beses pa nga, nagka-cash advance ako sa isang card to pay another card. I started getting calls from rude collectors several times a day sa office at sa bahay. It was very traumatic. My family tried to intervene dahil pati sila naha-harass sa mga calls sa bahay but I was too egotistic to accept na I failed financially. After all, I am a CPA - ang assumption, magaling sa pera.

Before I left the bank, my last assignment was to audit our credit card department. Doon ako naglakas ng loob to abandon my credit card debts. At that time, nasa 120K siguro ang outstanding dues ko. Sakto na paalis na ako ng work, binenta namin ang bahay namin sa QC and I changed phone number. I was practically untraceable.

I was aware of the consequence of my action - I would be blacklisted and I have to pay in cash for the rest of my life. It was a stupid choice, but a choice that, at the time, felt to be the only choice.

Calls and letters stopped coming. And I moved on.

That incident thought me to make wiser decisions pagdating sa finances. By 2010, I already bought my first condo and I have sizable savings and healthy investment portfolio with BDO. It was tough but it also made me less impulsive.

There was/is a myth that negative record/s is/are deleted after 7 years. Tinakbuhan ko ang credit cards ko noong 2007; so by 2014 nag-try ulit ako mag-apply ng cards. It turned out that the myth is not true dahil lahat ng applications ko were declined.

Doon ako na-introduce sa PEX. I found out from a thread na there was a secured credit card offered by some banks, most notably BPI and RCBC. All my savings and investments are with BDO so naisipan kong mag-inquire kung may similar product sila. It turned out that they do, so I applied. Kaya sobrang saya when it was approved and I got a Gold card na 50k ang limit. I won't waste that second opportunity..

A few months after, nalaman ko din dito sa PEX ang tungkol sa branch endorsement. I have a very good relationship with the branch manager dahil aside from my personal accounts, I am also a director and corporate secretary ng condo association namin that maintains a corporate account with that BDO branch. I just inquired about it sa BM thru email and she confirmed na pwede niya ako iendorso. Through branch endorsement, I got my first regular credit card after so many years. It was another Gold card na 50K din ang limit.

I immediately cancelled my secured credit card. Ang hold-out sa deposit naiwan pa rin dahil 1 year ang contract.

I became very responsible with the use of the card - bills are always paid in full and on time. In turn, BDO had been very generous to me. From that single branch endorsement, I now own 4 BDO Elite cards (5 if we count the 2nd DCI na di ko pa rin ina-activate). Ngayon I always ensure na ang outstanding obligations ko sa credit card would not exceed my savings sa bank.

Please don't use this post as inspiration kung balak nyo takbuhan ang utang ninyo sa credit card. Instead, do the exact opposite.

    (MGA ARAL):
    1. If you are already deep in debts, seek help. If you have friends and family who can help, don't be afraid to ask. If none, work and negotiate with your bank. You'll be surprised with the remedies that they can offer.

    2. If you are a new cardholder, use your bank card wisely. Learn how to leverage cards in your favor.

    3. If you have no card yet but are planning to get one, educate yourself first. At the end of the day, utang yan.

I learned the hardest way. If you are reading this, please do not make the same mistakes.

I am very lucky to have been given a second chance kaya grateful ako kay BDO. I also own credit cards from Bankard and BPI, na nakuha ko na BDO | AMEX ang reference.

I am very lucky to have been given a second chance when most people who did the same wrongdoings were not able to recover.

I am very lucky to have been given a second chance dahil sa mga advice from the people of PEX.
    Kudos kay prich026! 😉😃😀

    GINTONG ARAL:

    gelblossom said:
    Hello po!

Just wanted to share my BDO Card journey.

Sobrang gustong-gusto ko kasi makuha itong card na ito for the longest time.

I used to have BPI Blue MC way back 2010 kaso na-bad credit ako. Umabot ako sa point ng demand letters and all that.

In the end, ligwak din. DENIED.

PANGALAWANG BESES, 2016. Parehong kuwento sa una. Pero this time, ang work tenure ang naging problema.

Ayun, inalagaan ko for a while.

PANGATLONG BESES, 2017. Online application naman. Ligwak na naman. Hindi ko alam bakit. Pero ayoko sumuko.

Sumubok ako sa Security Bank ng Pebrero 2018. BPI SCC ang reperensiya kong CC. Approved!

After 1 week nag-verify ng details through phone. The following week, nagberipika sa home phone (landline).

My BDO Credit Card Application Timeline:

    Aug 28: Online application submitted
Aug 29: email receipt confirmation. Received a phone call verifying my application details.
Aug 30: received an email asking to submit 2 months latest SOA of my reference cc (1yr&6mos old). Submitted the same day. Received another phone call confirming receipt of the required docs. T&C recording was then played.
Sept 5: Received an email with the application ID.
Sept 13: received a phone call via home phone number(landline) and 10mins after the short CI call, received another call on my mobile phone but no one answered (it was a drop call).

*after this, what will be the next step? I checked the status online but still tagged as "unknown".

    NAKAPASKIL NA SA ONLINE BANKING
BDO VISA TWIN DATE REBATES: 8% Rebate on 8.8

IBAHAGI: KRIS TI₱S: How To Maximize Your Credit Card | Kris Aquino | The Aquinos

    KRIS' FAVORITES
    >BDO Cathay Pacific American Express Card
She also owns ShopMore and World Elite MasterCards issued by BDO.

Pag-uusap ng BDO Consumer Lending Group (CLG) at Bb. Kris Aquino:

KRIS: When you established a good relationship with your client, the client won't switch.

BDO: That's why we have lots of BDO Deals. We want to make sure that they're able to get the most out of their BDO credit cards.
K: That credit card requires you to be very responsible.
    B: Yes.
    K: Oo.
B: Hindi lang swipe nang swipe.
K: Also aralin maigi, bacause ngayon na may [mobile] app na, take advantage. This is where I really experience the best service and best rewards. And I think the best reach. Ýung talagang all my needs have been covered because of my BDO credit cards. You won me over because of the credit cards. So now you're going to win me over because pati payroll ililipat na rito. And also the long term wealth investment and trust of my children. It's also here but I think also pati ang day-to-day expenses, and also the utility expenses. So because you really prove to me that you find ways in so many ways. Actually innumerable ways. So thank you, BDO, for teaching me so much. And I hope in my journey of learning, I hope all of you also learned a lot. And I hope that you will all use this knowledge to continue to grow richer because dapat ganoon ito.
I always say na we have to create that circle of wealth and that circle of prosperity, because hindi pweede ang isa lang ang umangat. Dapat lahat tayong mga Pilipino aangat. Thank You.
B: Thank you so much, Kris, you know your credit card very well. You've been able to share a lot with our cardholders. Thank you and I'm happy that you're happy with your BDO credit cards.
    K: Yes. I am.

BANCO DE ORO REWARDS FAQs - CARD REPLACEMENT

How can members replace lost or damaged cards?
To replace a lost or damaged card, members must call the BDO Rewards Hotline. Click HERE.

Is there a card replacement fee?
Yes. The fee for card replacement is P150.00 or 150 points. Members have the option of using their points to pay for the fee. Replacement fee for Sapphire and Diamond is waived.

Hala!

(Even hindi pa nade-deliver ang new RC, magagamit pa ang old card para ma-swipe to earn points; but you cannot use it for points redemption).
