If we compare ourselves to OFWs, we are rich by Philippine standards, but not Bay Area standards.  We’re just considered middle class here and not even upper middle class.

If we bring everything we have to the Philippines and we make what we make here, we’d be considered rich.  But not filthy rich.

OFWs are tax free in the Middle East at obobs ang mga Arabo. you just have to feed their vanity and ego.

English teachers moonlighting by buying surplus goods to sell in the Philippines.

more likely mas yayaman ang immigrant kaysa sa ofw dahil contractual ang ofw. so in the long run mas maraming opportunities at benefits ang mga perm residents/citizens of foreign countries. may pension pa sila pag retire

Iyon namang pension maaari ring self funded.

In the US, people get rich when they invest in the right stocks.  It is normal for engineers here to make at least $120K a year plus sign on bonus and stock options.

There is no specific answer to that. Depende sa tao. Nasa tao yan.

Engineer's salary in U.S only 120k USD a year? Military General's salary in U.S is around 210k USD a year. 2nd highest paying job according to Career cast.. First is Surgeon mga 235k USD A year.

the most hated person in the US is the taxman or IRS agent.

in the US, you can work your rear end to the ground by taking multiple jobs the whole day but the taxman will still make you pay your taxes.

dun ka na lang sa walang tax kasi kailangan ka ng mga arabo. moonlighting is also tolerated.

Iyong 27% ay Federal income tax. Magkano ang State income tax?

I know because I do our taxes and we make more than that.

mahigit 200k usd a year sila ngayon. saan mo makuha ang 180k? ang hirap sayo hindi ka updated. yung basehan mo 10 years ago pa. the higher your position, the better benefits and larger amount of allowances. Tulad ng presidente, mga nasa 180k pesos a month lang salary ng president but the president of the country has biggest and largest amount of allowances and benefits among all. Generals in military, what do you expect? even business tycoon, kumakapit sa mga heneral for protection. we all know that.
