In addition sa personal experience na nabanggit na, basta may kaduda dudang mga ganito - best tawagan ang hotline or puntahan si Metrobank mismo.

    Scam po yan.
  • Is that VIP card for Travel?(or similar) Meron din offer sakin niyan nung bago palang card ko. Then sa pinakadulo, babanggitin na may one time payment. It's up to you if i-avail mo pero that's not from Metrobank.

TRAVEL CARD KUNO. V.I.P. CARD KUNO.

    SCAM.

Well, hindi ko pa siya natry, since enrolled naman ako sa company namin sa medicard. Since enrolled na ka rin, observe mo na lang kung scam ba or not :) hehe ..

Visited the WR2govip link. Site looks suspicious - design pa lang ng site mukhang kumuha lang sila ng mumurahing designer or some ready made online template to design the site (but a well designed site can also turn into scam sites too).
Wala ring mention ng Metrobank and Maxicare doon. The offeror must have been dropping names and simply takes advantage of your credit standing - I hope hindi mo binigay doon ang credit card details mo ha, including the security code.

Official Metrobank cards are listed here; https://metrobankcard.com/cards/compare-all

Strong agree with the others here. 99% I think this is scam. Makakakuha ka rin naman ng perks and even insurance on some credit cards and ATM cards from banks which is roughly same rin lang ng inooffer dito and legit pa (concierge on hier tier CCs). Plus too good to be true - one time pay pa (promising a lifetime of perks - paano kikita mga businesses doon), so one time takbo from client na naloko. Haha.

Metrobank is tied up to AXA insurance, and not to Maxicare.

Your gut feel must be right!!!!

If you have paid, can you reverse it? Pwede mo ata ipablock at report sa Metrobank.

Paano ka nila na-spot at naalokan nito? Nasa malls ba sila? Or something going rounds sa office nyo to join?

    Caveat!

I warned my supplementaries to decline/reject any offers like this.

I don't know kung paano nila nakukuha ang mga info. Somehow, baka may inside the job.

Nagpapakilala sila na affiliate at nakuha ang info either a Card Issuer (e.g. MCC, EastWest, BDO) or Payment Network (e.g. AMEX, MasterCard, Visa).

I believe na Metrobank was the one who gave the information to WR2GO. I had the same offer last year, I had this feeling na bakit ako biglang tinawagan? And I only gave my info to Metrobank, and wala pang nakaka-alam na mayron na akong credit card.

Walang address.

This is the flow kung saan napupunta ang ating mga personal details when we apply to a credit card (from what I observed lang naman)

    1. The Bank itself
    2. Service Provider na nagsasagawa ng pag background check (Doon nagtatrabaho ang aking partner, sila yung nag babackground check sa mga applicant ng mb cc, I don't know if meron pang third party na provider si metro)
    3. Courier (I have a college friend who works on the courier na nagdala ng aking credit card - ABest)

    @Strong7Power

    Haha. Ayun!

Palit names to evade then gawa ng bagong kalokohan na pagkakakitaan.

    @ehleesyan

There’s always the first time to be scammed! #happennedtomebefore

At least pag may nag-google about yung yung site na yan, may makikita silang reviews and thoughts na scam sya, so warning againt the others (may magagawa pa naman).

Sadly nakapagavail siya because of psychological tactic rin ng mga scammers at salesmen rin na “it’s now or never mentality”.

Most likely either agent or a suspicious employee.

There are companies talaga that try to scour for credit info.

Idagdag natin sa listahan ni @ehleesyan

    4. Websites asking for Credit info (kahit card number lang)
    5. Mga agent sa tabi-tabi (malls, etc)
    6. Pwedeng random phone number call, for the chance na baka may credit card yung nacontact. You could be providing phone numbers in various lists that you fill up (your own office, organizations you join, accommodations you do, valid raffle draws, etc). Lumang tactic ito and usually people blame the telco but people don’t realize they are giving out information themselves to individuals who can take advantage of these lists that they collect.

Me too, I don’t think banks provide the info. They have the access to huge database of people with credit anyway and willl make far more money offering credit to cash loans and balance transfers compared to selling the info (which will destroy their credibility and trust of depositors).

Hindi CC yan, for loans yan. Sounds like pinapa-apply ka ng loan.  Wala syang kinalaman sa CC.

Hindi. Case to case basis padin yan.

  • My husband availed this just now.. Usually we talk about these things before we make a purchase..

@jazzy_24 Read this comment , which you can do https://www.pinoyexchange.com/discussion/comment/77523131/#Comment_77523131

I'm not sure if pwede pa, pero best thing to do right now is to call Metrobank asap and call mo rin yung nag offer ng VIP card, just hope na nag-ooffer ng refund yung wr2go (if that's the same company na nag-offer), try to read the terms and conditions or contract kung merong binigay na mga papeles sa husband mo po. This is most likely scam, too good to be true.

As far as I remember, I had the similar offer sakin last year (different company name, same offer), no refund ito, can't guarrantee na no refund since hindi ko naman inavail at wala akong nakitang terms / contract.
