There's this popular fetishization of the French language--no thanks to the Americans. Lol

I don't really find French to be any more sophisticated than Spanish or German or Chinese or Arabic. Each language is beautiful and sophisticated in its own right, especially if you begin to explore its literary tradition.

French is an overrated foreign language, I studied Mandarin instead. Problem is most Fil-Chis speak Fookien instead of traditional Mandarin
