For her comeback project with Star Cinema, Kris Aquino will do a movie with Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto.
"Mas nakakahiya na bumalik ka at pinulot ka lang sa lupa," declared Kris Aquino when she returned to the ABS-CBN compound.
Kris Aquino returns to ABS-CBN’s film arm Star Cinema.
The actress-TV host signed a contract earlier today, April 20.
In her interview with ABS-CBN, which was also broadcast through Facebook Live, Kris revealed that she will do a movie with Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto.
Their film will be directed by Giselle Andres who helmed the Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber movie Loving in Tandem (2017).
According to Kris, it is part of Star Cinema’s 25th anniversary offering. The TV host-actress revealed that her movie with JoshLia is expected to open in cinemas on June 13.
This is contrary to reports saying that Kris is included in Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s upcoming movie.
The JoshLia movie serves as Kris’s comeback to Star Cinema and ABS-CBN.
Kris’s last project with the film outfit was the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival entry All You Need is Pag-ibig.
Other films that Kris did for Star Cinema were: Feng Shui (2004), Sukob (2006), Dalaw (2010), Segunda Mano (2011), Sisterakas (2012), Feng Shui 2 (2014), and Etiquette for Mistresses (2015).
Kris pointed out that it has been one year and nine months since she last went to ABS-CBN’s ELJ Building in July 2016.
Her contract expired in March 2016 and decided not to sign a renewal due to the threat of Abu Sayyaf to her and son Bimby Aquino Yap.
In April 2018, Kris announced that her career is now co-managed by Cornerstone Entertainment, Inc, headed by Erickson Raymundo.
Since then, Kris had been dropping hints that she is set to do a movie with ABS-CBN’s film outfit, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this 2018.
Kris told her fans, "Let's pray that Joshua behaves and Julia will be happy.
"Can I also ask that you pray for my health na kayanin ko ito dahil may playdate na tayo: June 13."
The title of the movie was then revealed: I Love You Hater.

Kris Aquino reacts to the recent issue about Joshua Garcia's loyalty to Julia Barretto being questioned after he got linked to a female netizen.
Pinayuhan ni Kris Aquino si Joshua Garcia na mag-behave at huwag nang hintayin pang mawala sa buhay niya si Julia Barretto kaugnay ng pagkaka-link ni Joshua sa isang female netizen kamakailan.
Inamin ni Joshua na nagkaroon sila ng hindi pagkakaunawaan ni Julia, ang kanyang onscreen partner at rumored girlfriend, dahil nag-comment ang young actor sa post ng isang netizen.
At dahil lumaki ang isyu, na-bash si Joshua ng mga netizens at kinuwestyon ang kanyang loyalty kay Julia.
Sa interview ni Joshua sa Tonight With Boy Abunda noong April 10, inamin ni Joshua na naayos na nila ni Julia ang anumang problemang dulot ng isyung ito.

“Can you please behave?” diretsang sabi ni Kris kay Joshua.
“Sa ganda ba naman nito, di ba?
“Sometimes kasi, minsan ang boys hindi naa-appreciate yung ganito kaganda,” pagtukoy ni Kris kay Julia.
“Kailangan mag-try muna ng ano not so [maganda], and then dun mo maa-appreciate ngayon yung halos mawala.
“Huwag mo nang hintaying mawala,” pahabol pa niyang bilin kay Joshua.
JOSHLIA FAN. Samantala, sinabi rin ni Kris na pinanood niya ang dalawang previous movies nina Joshua at Julia at humanga siya sa love team.
Aniya, “Sabi ko, Julia is really an actress, grabe!
“And I said Joshua has that special charisma that really just comes once in a generation. Iba talaga.”
Paalala pa ni Kris sa dalawa, “Congratulations to the both of you.
“Both of you have onscreen magic, so please take care of it.”
