Requiem tells the story of a rising cello star called Matilda whose life is turned upside down 23 years after a toddler goes missing in a small Welsh town in 1994.
The suicide of Matilda's mother calls into question her entire existence as she links her to the little girl's disappearance all those years ago after looking through her possessions.
She travels from London to Wales, determined to find out what happened, and in the process unravels her own identity.
There, mystery after mystery confronts Matilda and her loyal best friend Hal, while stranger Nick may not be all that he seems.
Who is in Requiem's cast?
The lead role of Matilda is played by Ripper Street's Lydia Wilson, also known for her movie roles in Star Trek Beyond and About Time.
Her clingy mother who has dedicated herself to daughter's musical career is played by Joanna Scanlan, and it is her decision to end her life out of the blue that triggers the story.
Also starring is Brendan Coyle who is known for playing the role of Mr Bates in Downton Abbey. In Requiem he is Stephen Kendrick, the detective inspector who led the original investigation into toddler Carys Howells disappearance.
Joining the trio in the cast is Joel Fry, best-known for sitcom Plebs, as well as Game Of Thrones' Tara Fitzgerald.
James Frecheville, Ifan Huw Thomas, Dyfan Dwyfor, Richard Harrington and Claire Rushbrook complete the line-up.
Requiem is a six-part drama series made for the BBC and co-produced by Netflix.
Each of its episodes lasts an hour.
