I dunno if he's spending that much for an iPhone 8+, it's not too much more, relatively speaking, to get to the iPhone X. And if the $200 gap is a make or break deal, he probably shouldn't be considering either.
blue, if you are an iPhone user and love what you have, stick with the 8+. If you willing to take on the novelty of a 1st gen product and need attention, get the X.
