1st time i had frog's legs was in a train in china. i was about 10 then. i thought it was fried chicken. naka 3 ako bago sinabi saken na they're frog legs..
in hindsight, thanks to that experience, i've never been shy to try new food ever since - within reason.
dogs i will never eat.
as is cat - unless i've had it in siopao form, i don't wanna know. lols
Growing up in the Philippines: just like the video..."Ate salamuch sa adobong palaka with tulbos ng kamote, ang sarap teh. Let's pray to Mama Mary for pasalamuch."
After two years in America: "Yaaack kennot ko eat ang IHOP ha, it gives me the runs noh...I was diagnosed by my primary ker doc na I have sensitib ishtomak. No way Hosay. Sa PF Changs puede?"
This exotic dish is not just a culinary delicacy. Heres a reason why you should hop over to grab this grub: A 100g serving stir-fried in chilli yields only 70 calories. This is just a quarter of a similar serving of chicken thigh, which weighs in at 280 calories, says dietician Marc Lawrence.
For those looking for an alternative to white meat like chicken, frog legs might be your answer. This lean meal is high in protein, at 16g per serving, with only 0.3g of fat, says Lawrence. Its also a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, potassium and vitamin A. On top of that, the taste and texture of the meat is mild, like a mix of chicken and fish. Apart from being stir-fried the Cantonese way, frog legs can be cooked in a variety of methods, including steamed or stewed. A 100g serving of frog legs only contains 0.3g of fat, compared to 3g in a similar serving of grilled chicken breast.
Di ako makahanap ng palaka dito sa barrio namin. May lason siguro ang mga palaka rito 'di maaaring kainin....

the best was at the defunct Pinasukan restuarant. it was deep fried young frogs and crispy up to the bones but not oily. perfect beermatch.
the relyeno version taste like pork because of the ground meat fillings. it is oily.
if you really want to taste the real frog meat, it is best to eat it as tinola. and yes, it taste like chicken.
