    RCBC BANKARD SERVICES CORPORATION, known also as BANKARD, INC. is the second largest credit card issuers in the Philippines in terms of the most number of card brands acquisition, issuing Visa, MasterCard, JCB and CUP credit cards.

    BDO issues the most brands in the country, namely MasterCard, Visa, JCB, UnionPay, American Express, including corporate and tie-up cards with different companies, and now Diners Club.

    On December 4, 1981, Philippine Commercial International Bank (now part of BDO) organized the Philippine Commercial Credit Card, Inc. (PCCCI). Full commercial operations started in June 1982. It has strong partnership with Mastercard International.

    It also issued its own line of credit and debit cards in the 1990s.

    In July 1992, PCCCI changed its name to Bankard, Inc.

    In March 1995, Bankard, Inc. was publicly listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange and started offering dual currency feature.

    In May 2000, the Yuchengco group acquired Bankard from PCI Equitable Bank (now part of BDO), a product of the high profile merger between Equitable Bank and Philippine Commercial International Bank (PCIBank). The merged bank decided to keep Equitable's credit card arm instead of merging Bankard into Equitable Card Network's (now part of BDO Consumer Lending Group) operations.

    In 2006, following the sale of the entire Bankard business and all of its assets to RCBC and RCBC Cards, the company re-branded its cards from Bankard to RCBC Bankard the following year, 2007. Now as RCBC BANKARD SERVICES CORPORATION.

    From 2000 to 2006, the merger of RCBC Cards and Bankard, Inc. was being realized.

    Bankard granted the license to acquire merchant billings and to issue credit cards carrying MasterCard brands in 1991, Visa brands in 1995, China UnionPay in 2010. Through RCBC Cards, Bankard also started issuing JCB cards.

    In terms of card features, Bankard is known for being the first card company to launch a catalog-free Rewards Program and a simplified, no-hassle installment conversion feature that allows cardholders to convert their retail purchases to installment just by calling the RCBC Bankard Customer Service. Cardholders can likewise avail themselves of flexible and easy-on-the-pocket installment packages through the RCBC Bankard Installment facility that also includes 0% interest installment.

    Hello po, tumawag ako sa CSR ngayon and just asked them kung pwede ba mag upgrade ng card from Gold to Diamond or Gold to Platinum, sabi ni CSR di daw pwede and need daw mag apply ulit ng bagong card and pwede lang daw Classic to Gold upgrade. Pero may mga nabasa ako dati dito na pinadalhan sila ng another CC ni RCBC pano po yun?

    Marami kasing di naa-approve sa ELITE CARD UPGRADE from Gold and Classic Cards.

    Kahit dito sa PEX, hindi malinaw sa atin kung ano talaga ang pamantayan o kahingian ng Bankard sa Elite Card Upgrade.

    Better to apply na lang.
    Classic Visa din ang first card ko kay Bankard. Nung mag-75k ang cl, na upgrade sa Gold, di na sila nagtanong basta na lang pinalitan yung classic ko. After 2 years tinawagan nila ako and they offer Mastercard Platinum and since waived ang annual fee for life, I said yes. I asked why, good credit standing daw.

Sana nga totoong retain kasi papacut ko ito if not....hahaha

    CARD UPGRADE

    Maganda talaga kapag bank mismo ang nag-alok o bank initiative for additional card, card upgrade, ICL, BT and Cash Loan Offer, etc.


    ahlxzeus, di talaga na-tag as FFLAF ang card kahit mismo ang Bankard ang nag-upgrade? Hirap nga iyan.

    Still waiting for feedback from their card retention department whether or not tatapatan nila ang reference cc or papacut ko nalang (kahit na free for life siya) due to the large discrepancy of cl (~x10 ang ref card). Mga 1 week na, although when I log in sa online ngayon, puro zeroes ang amounts (limit = 0.00). Not sure if pinutol na nila or inaayos pa nila.

    Isa pa sa problem ko ni apply ko yung card ko sa agent and NAFFL Golda Card sya tapos sinabihan lang akk na gumasgos ng 5k pero yjng nagamit ko is almost 50k in that week na sinabihan ako ng CSR tapos nung tumawag ako sa kanila sabi sakin may text message ako mwala naman ako na receive na text/email na tagged ang card after spending 5k. Need nyo pa po itawag yan sa csr para ma-tag na as FAFFL ang card mo. ☺
    Thanks po sa lahat ng sumagot. Yeah as far as backreading mukang kakaiba yjng process ni RCBC pagdating sa CLI increase and Card Upgrade.

    May mga kuwento rito sa PEX na sinabi ng ahente, FFLAF pero pagdating sa CS, hindi. Idinaan sa diskarte at cancellation threat kapag di na-tag as FFLAF. Backread ka na lang. E ang resulta ng iba, naging FFLAF na.

    Sabi ng ahente, para sa mga existing cardholders ng ibang bangko na KATULAD MO. So pwede ka! So pasok ka!Ang sabi niya, hindi applicable sa existing Bankard holders pero hindi malinaw ang promo mechanics. Pwede kasing existing cardholders ng ibang bangko while you are also a Bankard holder.     Nung tumawag ako last week asking if pwede mag upgrade from gold to plat or infinite sabi mag apply ako. Ayun nung Saturday nag apply ako and then the same day i sent the requirements sa teleprime then kanina 11am tjnawagan na ako ng rep. Then sinabihan ako na processing will take 15 to 20 days. Waiting game ulit. Gusto ko lang itry baka sakali ma approve hehe. Any experience guys with applying for second card sa bankard? Did you guys tried applying for infinite or plat kahit may gold na kayo or other card from bankard. Please share po hihi

    According sa nakausap kong ahente, hininto na muna ang VISA INFINITE issuance. Hindi niya alam kung ipe-phase out na ito.

    I received a text from RCBC ireschedule ko raw yung delivery ng CC ko. Dineliver kasi nila sa company address ko even if home address ang pinili kong option. Then tumawag ako sa hotline nila sabi nung rep it will be delivered within 14 days. I also receive a text from them confirming the delivery. It's almost 3 weeks na ngayon so I decided to call their hotline again to ask what happened. Na surprise ** sa sinabi nung rep na wala daw request na CC under my name. Now they advised me to call on Thursday kasi daw gagawa sila ng report para sa processing dept. Ano dpat ko gawin? Naguguluhan ako.

    Follow up ka lang ng follow up!

    Hello Master Strong, I talked Dodie (the contact in the flyer), he said that this is for new to bank clients only (meaning. applicants who doesn't have any RCBC CCs).
