Best movie villain

What The Rock means here is character, not ACTOR. Someone you love to hate. Be it dramatic, over the top, comedic, whatever! The villain has to be memorable enough that you wanted to watch the movie for him, not necessarily the hero. Male or female. The Rock's personal choices have to be Darth Vader and Darth Maul from the "Star Wars" series, Castor Troy from "Face/Off", Dr. Evil from the "Austin Powers" movies, and Auric Goldfinger from the James Bond film "Goldfinger". What about you?

  • One of the meanest villains has to be Jane--from an old movie my Mom had recommended, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. Boy, did she take vicious pleasure in tormenting a paraplegic sister! It was a character played very well by Bette Davis. Yes, the movie's more than a few decades old, and actually filmed in black and white.

  • A couple more worth mentioning:

    Hannibal Lecter!---from the Silence of the Lambs;

    the insane, obsessed (Kathy Bates) character from the movie Misery;

and, of course, the most memorable of them all, my puddin'---shouldn't forget the JOKER!
  • Darth Vader.

that says it all, doesn't it? :)

If you ask my little cute niece, she would say Cruella DeVil! ;)
  • The character that Gary Oldman played in Air Force One.

Hey, how about Anthony Perkins in Psycho?
  • john malkovich in con air!!!
  • Good thing this topic got revived cos I have to say Louise Fletcher's character in 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' has got to be one of the most memorable.

Other noteworthy performances (aside from the ones posted already):

Robert De Niro in 'Cape Fear'
Robert De Niro in 'The Untouchables'
Tommy Lee Jones in 'Under Siege'
Gary Oldman in 'The Professional' (or 'Leon')
    Sam Neill in 'Event Horizon'
Christopher Walken and Steve Buscemi in 'Things to do in Denver When You're Dead'
    Michael Rooker in 'Mississippi Burning'
    Alan Rickman in 'Die Hard'
Jennifer Jason Leigh in 'Single White Female'
Rebecca de Mornay in 'The Hand that Rocks the Cradle'
    Glenn Close in 'Fatal Attraction'
John Malkovich in 'In the Line of Fire'
    Robert Patrick in 'T2'
Eddie Garcia in 'Ako ang Huhusga'
Raoul Aragonn in that Aga Muhlach-Lea Salonga movie (nagtuturo siya ng mga TNT sa Amerika)

Kathy Bates in Misery. Cujo. It. Cherie Gil and all the characters she has portrayed.

    Norton in Primal Fear.
  • nowlnowl PExer
Darth Vader from Star Wars- the creepy, asthmatic voice... the perfect tragic villain

John Doe from Seven- he made being bad look so cool and smart

The Other Woman (Glen Close) in Fatal Attraction- how does that saying go again? about hell and a woman scorned? i kept on thinking about that while watching this film

  • Dennis Hopper's character in "Speed" and "Water World".

The Hitman in "The Untouchables" (the one who killed Sean Connery).

  • [L]es[L]es PExer
i'll try to remember and post later. asthanos.gif
  • - Loki & Bartleby (Dogma)
    - Azazel (Fallen)
    - Lucifer (Southpark: Bigger, Longer & Uncut)
    - Dr. Evil (Austin Powers)
    - Edward Norton's character (Primal Fear)

and the best villain of all:
    Keyser Soze!!
  • "have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight" - hands down one of the creepiest lines... from the JOKER.

The nurse in One Flew Over was evil, evil, evil as well... and scarier in the sense that her brand of evil was human.

As for inanimate objects of evil. the ship in Event Horizon was pure malice... still creeps me out when I see the movie.

Malificent from Sleeping Beauty is still hans down, my favorite movie villain... they even coined that name/word just for her... its an amalgamation of malicious and, hmmm, i dont remember the other one... but when she turned into that dragon my blood ran cold...

NOWL - hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
  • Man, somebody actually revived this topic! Wow. The Rock wants to thank ZaZel for taking the time out to check out the old PEx pages. :D
