[Ch.4/Amazon] Philip K. D?ck's ELECTRIC DREAMS
The Channel 4 series brings the work of D?ck?s anthology of short stories to life for a brand new 10-part fantasy epic.
The series in collaboration with Amazon, joins the ever-expanding pantheon of D?ck adaptations.
Movies including Total Recall, Minority Report and The Adjustment Bureau are all based on the author?s stories, as is the Amazon series The Man in the High Castle.
Channel 4?s addition takes its name from Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, the basis for the most famous D?ck adaptation: Blade Runner.
But Electric Dreams is not a remake of the Harrison Ford classic (the sequel to which arrives in cinemas next month), but rather an anthology series featuring 10 of D?ck?s lesser-known tales.
Each story deals with themes of human nature, authoritarianism and the dangers of technology, and features a stellar cast and crew.
Bryan Cranston, who stars in one of the episodes and serves as an executive producer, said: ?What we were greatly surprised by was the level of talent that were already fans of Philip K. D?ck?s work.
The sci-fi vein runs strongly through the Black Mirror-esque drama which has managed to lure in a wealth of stars to its enormous cast.
Bryan Cranston joins Timothy Spall, Steve Buscemi and Game of Thrones? Richard Madden in one of the most highly-anticipated television moments of the year.
