So someone crashed into the back of our car.
This happened about 3 weeks ago. After a weekend dinner, I and my husband were in a car waiting for stoplight to turn green then suddenly a car crashed into the back of our car. We were okay but our car got damaged including one of the taillights. My husband told me to let him handle everything - I was actually in a bad mood that time and I was like ready to argue with the people who crashed into our car. Anyways, to make the story short, we have a car insurance and they paid for the participation fee. I was actually debating with my husband regarding that. I was saying that aside from participation fee they should be the one shouldering the gas for the car repair shop and we should get paid for all the inconvenience this accident would cause us. I even said that they should give him a car while the car was being repaired. Obviously for me, that participation fee was not enough. What actually happened was it took over a week for the car to get repaired. My husband is a surgeon and during that time he used my car to do his hospital rounds and even an emergency operation (appendcitis). One time, I could not wait for him so I took a cab. Yes, I hated that I took the cab but I also hated the fact that he was so mabait with those people who damaged our car. He should have asked for more. I am posting it here, why? Because I want to know if the compensation that I was asking is right and not overboard. gosh Is it too much?
