Why did the Jennylyn Mercado-Coco Martin movie not push through?

Jennylyn Mercado gamely answered questions about working on possible movies with her ex-boyfriends.

During the press conference for her album titled Ultimate, Jennylyn Mercado under Ivory Music, Jennylyn serenaded members of the press by performing 'Hagdan.'

Her album reached the No. 1 spot on its first day of release on iTunes--the only OPM album to achieve this feat so far.

Her seven-track album features the carrier single 'Hagdan' and collaborations with Christian Bautista for a remake of 'Suddenly' and 'Bulalakaw' with Silent Sanctuary. Other tracks include 'Nakaw-tingin,' 'Huling Paalam,' 'Lampara,' and 'Magkaibang Mundo.'

The GMA-7 actress said there has not been any offers for her to star in a movie with rumored boyfriend Dennis Trillo.

If ever, would she be willing to work with Dennis?

Hindi rin ako maiilang kasi nakagawa na kami ng mga soap,' said Jennylyn, referring to their now defunct Kapuso teleserye My Faithful Husband.

Would she also be willing to work with her ex-boyfriend Luis Manzano?

For the past two years, Jennylyn has had a winning streak in the Best Actress category of the Metro Manila Film Fest.

She earned the Best Actress trophy for English Only Please in 2014 and Walang Forever in 2015.

Did she receive offers to star in another MMFF entry this year?

What happened to her supposed movie with Coco Martin?

'Hindi lang po natuloy,' she said with a laugh.

When asked if this is because of the Philippine version of My Love From the Star, she answered: 'Opo.'

She will portray Steffi Cheon in GMA-7's remake of the Koreanovela about a human actress who falls in love with an alien.

Mag-ama kayang muli sina Bossing at Maine?

Family drama ang Pinoy adaptation ng Korean movie na Miracle in Cell No. 7, bida sina Aga Muhlach at Nadine Lustre, sa direksiyon ni Nuel Naval.

    ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW

    ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW

COCO MARTIN, NORA AUNOR, ROBIN PADILLA MOVIE NOT YET OUT OF MMFF 2019

    • Coco Martin, Ai-ai delas Alas andJennylyn Mercado film may still enter MMFF2019.
    • MMFF still need 4 entries to complete its list of official entries.

The Coco Martin, Ai-Ai delas Alas, and Jennylyn Mercado film may not be totally out of the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival official entries yet.

In the first round of selection, Coco’s film with Ai-Ai and Jennylyn failed to make the cut for the first four MMFF official entries. The first four were selected based on screenplay merits.

But they are not totally out of the competition as MMFF will still chose another 4 entries to complete the magic 8.

The next four entries will be coming from the finished film categories and will be announced on September 20.

According to the MMFF executive committee, this year’s festival will have one film in each genre.

The first four which made the cut in the screenplay category already come from different genres; (K)Ampon starring Derek Ramsay and KrisAquino for the horror genre, Miracle in Cell 7 with Aga Muhlach and Nadine Lustre for family drama; Unstapabol of Vic Sotto and Maine Mendoza for family comedy; and Momaland featuring Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis for the fantasy genre.

When first submitted, Coco Martin’s film was categorized under romantic-comedy that is why it was not chosen as the comedy genre was already given to Unstapabol.

But under the finished film category where the next four entries will be picked, films can change genre to make the cut. It is possible that Coco’s film will be changed to action genre which would give it a fair chance to make the cut if there will be no other action films that will vie for the slot.

Meanwhile aside from from Coco Martin’s film, other movies which failed to secure a slot in the first four of this year’s MMFF are The Heiressstarring Maricel Soriano, and It-it of Robin Padilla which were both horror films, Magikland by Direk Peque Gallaga which is fantasy, and drama films Isa Pang Bahaghari starring Nora Aunor, and Mindanaw of Judy Ann Santos.

Vice Ganda dressed up as a doll at the launch of his Vice Gandoll Brow Collection held at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, on July 18, 2019.

Kabilang dito ang: (K)Ampon, starring Derek Ramsay and Kris Aquino; Miracle in Cell No. 7, starring Aga Muhlach and Nadine Lustre; Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity, starring Vic Sotto and Maine Mendoza; at ang Momalland, kung saan kasama ni Vice Ganda ang It's Showtime co-host nito na si Anne Curtis.

Dagdag pa ng It's Showtime host, "I'm very confident na papasok yung movie niya.

    WORKING WITH ANNE CURTIS

Aniya, "We were very happy. We were all praying na matanggap yung entry namin kasi yung first four na matatanggap, script lang ang basis.

    ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW

"At saka kasama 'to sa 10th anniversary ng It's Showtime."

    MOMALLAND

    ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
