Who do you think among US presidentiables will impact the Philippines the most?

joerizjoeriz PEx Influencer ⭐⭐⭐
The potential candidates for US Presidency are Sanders (R), Clinton (R), Trump (D), and Cruz (D).
Who do you thimk among these will have a fsvorable impact on US-Philippine relations.
Right now, it is somehow difficult to gauge what any of US presidentiables will be concerned about the Philippines. US have lots of things to contend with, healthcare, immigration, gun control, homeland security, primarily. Most likely, it will just be maintaining the status quo. Same amount of US aid. But what if the electef next President will be vent on cutting aid across the board?

^Sanders and Clinton are Democrats while Trump and Cruz are Republicans. You had them mixed up TS.

IMHO, if Trump wins, there will be an increased U.S. presence in South China Sea but reduced military aid to the Philippines. Trump would want to make a direct action against China instead of letting the Philippines do the work for them.

Sorry, my bad. Thanks for catching the error quick.

I don't think any of the candidates will have any favorable impact on the Philippines. In all of their debates, they barely cover foreign policies. Worst, is that the US might cut foreign aid to all countries, the Philippines, included.
I wonder if the current ambassador will be replaced. Anything the current ambassador have done on behalf of the Philippines, so far?
But it is too early to tell. Once the primary is over and candidates are announced, then they may mention about their foreign policies with the Philippines to court the Filipino-American votes.

^The current U.S. Ambassador was the one who negotiated EDCA, right?

Whoever wins over there, I hope they continue to make it easier for us to acquire some of their pre-owned military assets.

Pwede na rin yung tulungan tayo to negotiate with some of their defense contractors para mahikayat natin sila to set up shop here. AFP modernization would go a long way faster if military ship, plane and weapons builders have plants here.

Thump will not be so bad. However... if all hades breaks loose watch the Philippines be a weapons staging / forwarding point. All of the weapons storage / handling facilities at the former NAVMAG Cubi Point could be functional again in days. No other facility this side of Guam except Japan / Okinawa exists.

Rubio would be afraid to use force...
Bush would be sacred to follow in his brothers footsteps
Sanders and Clinton both would keep the military at the current unacceptable manning levels with poor readiness.

We do not gain much with any of them... Obamas' Pivot to Asia? When?

We will have to disagree. Hillary and Bill Clinton made vast fortunes using her connections abroad while working at the US State Department. She compromised US national security by using an unsecured private server while passing Confidential, Secret and Top Secret files.

I guess if you follow her logic "What difference does it make?"

She is a lot like Binay when it comes to reaping the rewards of her positions in the US Government.

And not just that, Hillary also cover up all of her husband's philandering. Linda Trip, the woman who blew up the Monica Lewinsky's case wide open, accuses Hillary of threatening hundreds of women that had sexual relationships with her husband. Not to mention her involvement with the Benghazi fiasco.
If Sanders beat Hillary in the New Hampshire primary, then it will be an uphill battle for her, if not, completely loses the nomination. It's 2008 all over for her again.
As for impact to the Philippines, Bernie Sanders will not have any impact at all, in not just marginally. He's old and more probably his style will be old-fashioned, too. Just maintaining the status quo in relationships with US allies.

How about their viewa regarding BPOs? Are any of the front-runners espousing immediate repatriation of outsourced jobs???

Nope... will not happen. BPO is now the norms. Middle Class American's hate call-center jobs and hate "smart" jobs like IT, Nursing, etc.

What they want is their manufacturing jobs. As if they can beat China and India.

This is how Trump's "genius" works. He says all these outrageous things and people fall for it hook, line and sinker. And while it may sound good to a lot of people, Trump's promises leave plenty of room for details and specificity.

He says he is going to deport ALL undocumented immigrants within two years. According to American Action Forum (A right wing organization at that), it's going to cost the Federal Government $400 to $600 billion to deport all 11.2 million UIs and keep them away for good. That begs the question, where is Trump going to get the money?

Reading further onto the cited piece from American Action Forum, Trump obviously doesn't consider the economic repercussions of deporting every undocumented immigrant. Deporting 11.2 people would considerably shrink the labor force which would in turn reduce real GDP by $1.6 trillion.

About that wall, Trump says he's going to make Mexico pay for it. One reason why he doesn't talk about specifics much (though we can find them on his website) on how he plans on doing it is because it doesn't make sense. One plan that stands out in terms of absurdity is that he'll impound all remittances from illegal wages. Even assuming a law is passed and cleared by the SC (what he wants to do is tantamount to seizure), how effective would that be? Mexican remittances account for just 2% of its GDP.

If we consider these things, no sane or rational person would believe Trump's pronouncements.

they never consider themselves as whites

They are now promoting self hate. Kinda like Merkel and some German politicians (pro-refugees) who are actual Jews.

Truly exposing themselves as nation wreckers, yet not all can comment bravely cause of anti-semitism laws
