Planning to buy my first second hand car with a budget of 100-160k...

I'm eyeing a Honda Civic 96-98model

or Mitsubishi 96-98 model...

however i was discouraged with others saying that if ill buy a 2nd hand i should get not lower than the 2005 model.

can anyone help me decide?

are the 2000 model below really will cause more headaches than it's worth?
