But with piso fare and all those airfare discounts from different carriers, hindi na ganun kahirap in terms of cost and effort.

I want to experience ice fishing there and have an encounter with polar bears, seals and penguins but the condition there is very extreme. It's still a nice story to tell your kids and grandkids when you went on an adventure there.

I travel sometimes for the food when I crave for it. Nothing beats authentic. :glee:

Mostly it's for documentation of ancient ruins, religions and cultures. There's a newly discovered ancient temple near Ankor Wa-t and planning to study it sometime next year after visiting the ancient temples scattered in Indonesia.

I'm more of an explorer rather than a "tourer".

On the contrary I'm glad to see that most Pinoys travel to see the world. Dati kasi parang may wow factor pag nabalitaan mong galing US or kahit Hongkong lang yung neighbor mo but now... meh. :glee:
Few years back, me and my exgf were on a tour in Spain. We met a family from Alabang and was surprised that they're on a holiday for almost a month. Their itenerary is London, Amsterdam, Greece, Finland etc...
Naimagine ko agad magkano gagastusin nila for that trip. For 6 persons going on that trip baka mahina ang P2M.
To be honest pag nagtour ang mga Pinoy ay talagang di nagtitipid. Unlike most westerners na may malaking backpack sa likod at sa hostel or budget rooms lang nagchecheckin.
Like me for example, I always book in a nice hotel. 4 or 5 star dapat. Yung after your day tour eh makakarelax kayo ng kasama mo. Tapos I make sure that I try the local dishes and mingle with the locals. Konting shopping at bili ng pasalubong.
Australia lang ayokong puntahan. Madami kasing bekking supot na gurang dun. Saka kangaroo lang makikita mo.
Boringggggg. 6pm sarado na lahat. Bahay ka na at matutulog ka na.
    Anong klaseng lugar yun?
Kahit anong pilit ng ate ko na pasyalan ko sila dun, di ako sumama nung nagtour parents ko dun early this year.

Was it Seoul that you visited last time? How's the place? Their clubbing scene? Any tourist spot you can recommend? May language barrier ba dun?

Seoul is a beautiful city. It's fantastic. One trip would not be enough.

If it's your firs time, I'd recommend the city tour bus. It will take you to all tourist spots of the city, hassle free. You might want to visit Nami island as well to romance your gf. :naughty: Usually, you take the ferry to go the island, or, if you're adventurous, you can take the zip line..weeeeeeee....

Don't take the taxi, take the subway so you can experience the people. There are tons, as in tons of shopping areas and restaurants here -- Dongdamemon, Myeongdong, Namdaemon (Hoehyeon), Gangnam (yeah, where Psy came from), etc.

Outside the Gangnam station, there is a dancing platform complete with Opa Gangnam music at a press of a button where you can do a ***** and dance.

For language, just the basic like kamsahamnida (thank you) and annyeonghaseyo (hello). Even if they don't understand you, just point what you want and you'll be fine. There's English translation anyway.

Language barrier will be a problem if you are single and looking for Korean girls. :D You must know Korean. Do not make eye contact for more than 2 seconds with a Korean girl. They will assume you like them and if they facny you, they will twirl their hair, walk circles around you to check you out and come near you as in NEAR, like 5cm near your face. They will either smile or touch your arm and initiate conversation in KOREAN. It will suck if you don't know any Korean at all. Yeah, they know they are beautiful and hot (plastic surgery), with confidence up the roof. :glee:

One guy even bragged he slept with 40 of them. :glee:

Always been my dream: Silk Road tours (NE China to Istanbul, or even just Xinjiang to Caucasus as long as I hit Samarkand, Merv, Bukhara, Tashkent) or the Trans Siberian (Vladivostok to Russia).

    Someday...when I have money.

Club scene will be in Itaewon. Just take a cab.

There tons of fine dining in the alley behind Gangnam.

i agree. growing up in the 80s, hirap makapag abroad. i mean HK / SG/ KL lang nun todo ipon dad ko noon for his young family. and jeez, wala naman makita sa mga lugar na yon dati except for HK na ocean park natatandaan ng 8 y.o brain ko at yung kaitak airport na first plane ride ko na feeling ko na either mag crash sa dagat o sa gubat *** plane  wala pa Petronas tower sa malaysia noon and singapore i recall was not as impressive then as the sprawling metropolis now. the only thing that made me realize i was abroad was it was the first time i saw many white people in the streets (HK).

but yes. im glad with the arrival of cebu pac, travel became affordable for everyone . dati monopolize ng PAL ang air travel thats why ang taas ng presyo and travel is seen as a luxury for some.

cebu pacific started off with so many misses and tragedies (a few plane crashes) to offer cheap flights but eventually their gamble paid off when their crashes minimized / eliminated and people started patronizing the cheap fares.

Most people these days seem to do traveling for the sake of Facebook pictures and comments.

They are willing to pay huge expenses just to have comments such as "wow, saan yan? di ka na talaga ma-reach!!!" when they post their travel pictures there.

Just how close would that encounter be? They are not cute, docile animals that may patted. If it gets too close for comfort, make sure you know how to protect yourself. If you know how to use one, a shotgun loaded with #00 buckshot would be very handy.
