to scan or not to scan?

which do you prefered?ipa scan muna ang auto nyo or sa mekaniko ipadiagnost agad ang sira?for example nawala busina ng toyota fortuner 2009 diesel AT ng tatay ko.at may lumabas na ilaw srs.(BTW a/c tech ako before then chevy and ac delco for 2 yrs).sabi ko sa father ko na sure na clock spring ang sira(which i check manual diagnosis)sabi ko mas maganda ipascan nalang namin baka may lumabas pa na ibang code.so nagpatawag sya ng magscan.sabi ko baka pwede na ifull scan nya...sabi nya sir busina lang at airbag check ko..dagdag nalang kayo ng 300.e di wow.total of 1800 pesos ang gastos plus repair ng ribbon(pinalitan lang ng wire or ribbon)1500.
mas maganda na din napascan namim.ika nga sureball ang check up.

Unti na lang i-dagdag mo sa PHP1,800 may sarili ka ng Diagnostic Tool that you can use anytime kung magkaproblema kotse mo. Owning one would save you much and avoid mechanics who take advantage of you e.g. give you wrong diagnosis and make you spend on unnecessary repairs (kahit hindi sira, papapalitan... para lang magka-kita sila... di ba siyet?).


I own a diagnostic tool compatible with my car and I always bring it anywhere along with my spare battery, series cable and air compressor(in cases of flat tire). If anything happens, a light comes on, check it with a diagnostic tool. There is an error code to every corresponding car trouble. If there is an error code, I try to Google it and make a little research. Why do this hassle? Para hindi ka lokohin ng mga mekaniko. You know a little something on what's wrong, saves you much hassle i.e. saves you time, cost... You get to know your car better, its history and its maintenance in the future. You should know... you are responsible for whatever happens to your car.
