Bakit ang dami dami dami dami daming fantards sa Pinas?

Naisip ko lang. :smokin:

Yung parang nabuhay lang sila sa mundo para maging number one fan.
They eat, breath and live fantardism.
Yung halos mag-amok na ang mga fantards para ipagtanggol ang favorite artist, loveteams or TV station nila. :rotfl:
LMTV na tuloy ang BP:lol:

It's their thing. Some people get off weird fetishes while others prefer supporting celebrities/TV stations. It's simple and easily relatable. What's surprising is that even Fox News has a fan base despite it being generally BS Mountain

This is all due to the manipulations tactics by the mass media and by the two major network stations. Another is because of the 'pop culture' phenomenon. Most people accept pop culture because of fear being different, alienated or ostracized. Even if they don't like it that much, they will be forced to act like they like it. A lot of people like pop culture because its pop culture, not because they really like it.

Consider doing this social experiment. Get any ordinary looking guy or girl from the street, make them a love team, put them on any live show on tv and then pay 100 people to scream and pretend to go ga-ga over this love team. I assure you, other people will follow.

Business People CONFIRMING the weight of ALDUB FEVER
This is a good read from a business perspective *okay*.

Di talaga pwedeng balewalain at maliitin yung 12M tweets na nagawa ng AlDub. Mga business people na mismo ang nag-confirm ng weight nung tweets para sa business nila.

ALDUB MAKES IT BIG BY ‘ACCIDENT’
    http://www.malaya.com.ph/business-news/business/aldub-makes-it-big-%E2%80%98accident%E2%80%99
    September 23, 2015

By JIMMY CALAPATI and MYLA IGLESIAS

‘Twas a “happy accident” that is currently wiping out competitors, spinning hundreds of millions of pesos in revenues, turning millions into social media guardians and leaving Filipinos bemused, amazed, enthralled and entertained.

The “happy accident” is AlDub, or GMA artist Alden Richards and the phenomenal Maine Mendoza otherwise known as Yaya (caregiver) Dub. They star in TV show Eat Bulaga’s “KalyeSerye” or street series – aptly called because the setting is on the street of the featured barangay for the day.

The duo is now a potent advertising tool, recently hired to lead a P100-million six-month program to sell telco services of Talk ‘N Text and fastfood brand McDonald’s.

Their impact was so great, 2 million more were curious enough to turn on their TVs.

One gauge the show is on is by the screaming heard from houses and the covert halt in work in offices.

The partnership was so overwhelming it left competitors catatonic.

Mendoza was first noticed when her Dubsmash videos, a popular app among young smartphone users, attracted millions of hits. She was handpicked by the people of Eat Bulaga to play the role of a caregiver to the character “Lola Nidora” played by actor Wally Bayola in drag.

Viewers were titillated when the usually dour-faced Yaya Dub smiled when she saw Richards. That was when the split-screen romance started.

The series, now on its 10th week, was so successful it catapulted GMA-7, particularly Eat Bulaga,to number one beating to a pulp ABS-CBN and its noontime show, It’s Showtime. Latest surveys show all the top 10 highest rating shows are now with GMA-7 – nine of which are Eat BulagaKalyeSerye episodes.

According to marketing research firm AC Nielsen, Eat Bulaga’s ratings in September 12 reached 28.8 percent compared to Showtime’s 11.8 percent. In September 5, Eat Bulaga’s ratings stood at 32.2 percent compared to Showtime’s 11.6 percent.

An official of rival ABS-CBN, who wished not to be identified, said “the phenomenon was so overwhelming we cannot do anything else but wait for it to pass.”

The officer said Yaya Dub was reminiscent of the original MariMar Spanish teleseries which clobbered competition and saved the day for the defunct Channel 9 in mid 1990s.

Another research firm, Kantar, said it has actually recorded new viewers numbering about 2 million since AlDub started. Kantar stressed these did not come from rival ABS-CBN but those who don’t usually watch TV and were influenced by social media. :glee:

Rolando Valdueza, ABS-CBN Corp. chief financial officer, said it’s a challenge for the company to improve its business.

“It’s promoting healthy competition. It’s a challenge for us to continue to look for ways on how to improve our business, it’s a challenge to the group,” he said.

More than the ratings, the KalyeSerye has also turned millions of Filipinos into social network guardians, posting on either Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.

Last Saturday, the AlDub hashtag [#]ALDUBMostAwaitedDate[/#] hit 12 million tweets, almost tripling the 4 million record tweets during the visit of Pope Francis in January this year.

The story of Yaya Dub has been a huge success from the start, people were entertained by Yaya Dub’s facial contortions that ultimately led to multi-million peso worth of endorsements.

Jay Bautista, managing director and senior advisor at Strategic Consumer and Media Incites Inc., said currently the advertisers are considering the social media mileage of programs or personalities to place an advertisement.

“I am sure it’s a consideration because aside from the number of people, the engagement level is very high,” Bautista said.

He added the 12 million tweets on the AlDub episode last Saturday is a sign that the traditional and new media has been merging. He said Eat Bulaga can monetize the social media popularity of Aldub as they might charge advertisers per retweet or share of tweets about a product or service.

The AlDub phenomena, according to broadcasting sources, has already earned for the couple two endorsement contracts, one with international fastfood chain McDonald’s and another with Talk ‘N Text of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.

McDonald’s refused to give the amount of the contract but stressed that “it was worth it” since the particular product the couple has been endorsing is sold out every day in all of its hundreds of branches nationwide and has “reached triple its target sales.”

“AlDub embodies the McDonald’s brand—they’re both fun and wholesome. Their appeal cuts across all demographics and social classes just like McDonald’s. We are very happy to have them as part of the McDonald’s family,” Adi Timbol, McDonald’s PR and Communications Manager, said.

Prior to the release of the commercial, hashtag [#]AlDubKoTo[/#] trended locally and globally. Timbol said the TVC earned over 1.5M views on McDonald’s Facebook page in less than 24 hours after release.

Meanwhile, a source from Talk ‘N Text hinted that the AlDub campaign costs “hundreds of million” and will run for “at least six months” or up to next year.

Last week, when the Talk ‘N Text campaign was launched, two official hashtags –

AldubTNT and AldubForTalkNText – were introduced with the latter garnering 2.56 million tweets in just 24 hours.

It’s the biggest 24-hour digital campaign to date in the country.

Talk ‘N Text said the 2.56 million tweets generated 3 million views for the television commercial.

Viewers gawked at Yaya Dub’s “date car,” a 2000 two-door Volkswagen Beetle, in last Saturday’s Eat Bulaga.

An official of Volkswagen Philippines said unlike the company’s official sponsorship as mobility provider for Pope Francis during his visit last January, the car’s appearance in Eat Bulaga was not an advertising or marketing deal but was a choice of the car rental company which provided the vehicle.

The unit was in fact imported not by Volkswagen Philippines but by an independent importer.

The official admitted the Beetle’s appearance in the show is helping boost Volkswagen’s “branding” because “12 million tweets is 12 million tweets.” :naughty:

Ramon Isberto, Smart Communications Inc. head of public affairs, admitted that the company considered the AlDub popularity in social media and TV to endorse its product.

In terms of impact to the company sales, Isberto said “it’s too early to tell. But it has certainly added excitement to the brand.”

According to Internet Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines, digital advertisement stood at P3 billion as of end-2014, part of which are the celebrity endorsement through twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Somewhere from P50 million to P200 million of the P3 billion total are used to pay endorsers, depending on the number of retweets. Unless part of the package, that means additional income for the endorser which could also run into millions of pesos.

The show is so successful GMA Network Inc. is now crying foul over what it perceives as unfair tactics by competitor. It filed another complaint with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) against SkyCable based on new reports of signal disruption before the airing of Eat Bulaga and/or during its phenomenal KalyeSerye (AlDub) segment.

In its letter, the Network argued it is significant that the signal loss and degradations are confined to SkyCable Ch.12 (GMA-7) only to the exclusion of other must-carry channels, and that there is basis to believe the signal disruptions were effected in order to reduce the viewership level of GMA/Eat Bulaga, which has enamored millions of viewers with its phenomenal AlDub/KalyeSerye segment resulting in the program’s very high ratings.
