The Philippines has agreed to host the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) announced.

Brunei previously pulled out of hosting the 2019 Games due to lack of venues and preparation time.

PSC said it will maximize existing facilities it used when the Philippines last hosted in 2005 and will touch base with the management of Mall of Asia (MOA) and Iglesia Ni Cristo for use of the MOA Arena and the Philippine Arena.

Unlike 2005 where venues are scattered all over the archipelago, ngayon pwedeng concentrated na sa NCR and Central Luzon ang venues.
Tapos yung hospital, NEU Bulacan Campus tsaka residential buildings.
    Pwede sigurong ganito ang venues:
Philippine Arena (Opening and Closing and Basketball/Volleyball Finals)
Philippine Sports Stadium (Alternative venue for Opening and Closing, Athletics, Football Finals)
Philippine Sports Center (Aquatics, Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis)
    Rizal Memorial Stadium (Football Preliminaries)
MOA Arena (Basketball and Volleyball Preliminaries)
SMX Convention Center and MOA Entertainment Hall (Taekwondo, Judo, Karatedo, Arnis, Fencing, Billiards)
    SM Bowling Center (Bowling)
Rizal Memorial Coliseum and Ninoy Aquino Coliseum (Gymnastics, Boxing, Weightlifting, Wrestling)
Subic Bay (Sailing, Canoe-kayak, Traditional Boat Race)
Shooting and Archery pwedeng around Subic din siguro.
Intramuros Golf Course or pwede ring somewhere in Subic (Golf)
Additional venues yung malalaking gyms ng universities like Blue Eagle Gym in Ateneo at yung ipapagawang Sports Center ng UP Diliman.

Ang pwede pa nila i consider venue San Juan Arena,Ultra Philsports,

San Juan Arena and Ynares Center could be good venue for Men's and Women's Volleyball.
Tama, Emperador Stadium for Rubgy 7s since may standby Rugby goals na ata dun.
UA&P has a standard futsal court so pwede rin siguro natin ibalik ang futsal during our hosting.
Boxing and Pool (Billiards and Snookers) pwede rin makipagtie-up sa Solaire or Manila Bay Resorts (under-construction).

Level up nun sana. Magandang story plus great music plus great coreography tapos dadagdagan this time ng technology, LED lights, harness, 3D mapping projectors etc. Asian Games year din ang 2019 tapos Olympics 2020, so kabugan talaga ng opening at closing ceremonies ito.

so its a manila-bocaue-antipolo-subic game. pero most likely it will be called manila event.

i reserved the the tracks of Phil Sports stadium for athletics. a blue track deserves a debut in sea games.:) i also like the idea that Phil Arena will host the opening. pero ang paborito ng karamihan... fireworks wala. parang walang sense kung hindi naman makikita ng mga aatend. kaya sa closing nalang ang arena.

Metro Manila should build a new velodrome and an aquatics. wag na sa los banos. magdilang anghel sana at may maipatayong aquatics. and i read na parang itutuloy ang sports complex sa clark. i doubt if it will push through.

Arena at Phil. Sports Stadium. It will have an international standard Aquatics Center and Badminton and Tennis courts plus large halls for other indoor sports. UP Diliman is building its own sports complex, kung may Olympic sized swimming pool dun, pwedeng dun ang water polo.
Aside from Aquatics, pwede rin sa Phil. Sports Center ang Badmindon, Tennis at Table Tennis even combat sports na wala masyadong audience para mas maconcentrate sa Ciudad de Victoria ang events since pwede din dun ilagay ang Athletes' Villag kung maitayo in time for 2019 yung residential buildings.
Yung cauldron nung 2005, uling at gaas (kerosene) ang pansindi. haha... kaya ganun kausok. Sana nga yung cauldron and torch design eh inspired ng pre-colonial art. Yung naisip ko eh hugis banga inspired by the Calatagan pot kase according to the most reliable translation ng inscription sa Calatagan pot eh it was used as a ritual vessel para sa pagsunog ng offerings sa mga anito. Tapos yung torch eh parang bamboo pole (made of metal syempre) na may baybayin inscriptions din.

First time in the history of SEAG. Meron naman tayong mga Olympic size rinks so we could atleast have figure skating, speed skating and ice hockey. We have national teams for those events. Sa figure skating, medyo lamang tayo since our skaters compete sa US and Europe plus tayo pa lang ang ASEAN country na nakapagpadala ng skater sa Olympics.
  • goodpersongoodperson Member Volleyball Vanguard
now that you have mentioned INC. they also have a new convention center in QC. in case magkulang ng venue.

i actually searched for the render of sports center. just to check the capacity of the aquatics. fair enough to use it during Sea games. but not enough if we will use it for ASIAN games. tennis needs many courts so hindi na siguro pwede sa bocaue. pero pwede nga siguro yung combat sports tulad yung iaasign na sports sa ynares, san juan, or makati coliseum since hindi nga sila nakalagay sa mga malalapit clusters na venue. water polo can be held in a university pool. ateneo has a good pool though.

    sportscenter_zps8e54c567.jpg

actually, skating and ice hockey were admitted officially by sea games. inagural game on 2017. plus Pinas will follow what Singapore did, instead of athletes village, they will be housed in hotels.

    Example cluster venues:
Rizal Memorial Sports Complex: 5 sports
Baseball, Rugby 7s, Tennis, Sepak Takraw, Muay Thai

Entertainment City-MOA, CCP, Solaire, Newport: 8-9sports (and other oversight committees)
Volleyball, Football, Bowling, Weightlifting, Wushu, Table Tennis, Boxing, Skating, Karate

    Fort Bonifacio :5 sports
    Shooting, Chess, Marathon, Football, Golf

Ciudad de Victoria: 5-6 sports + opening and closing
Athletics, Gymnastics, Aquatics, +2 combat sports, (final events in Phil. Arena)

    Subic: 3 sports
    Triathlon, Rowing, Traditional Boat race

Stand alone venues: Sky Dome, San Juan Arena, Araneta, Alabang Country Club, amoranto, philsport, sm megamall, ynares, up, ust, ateneo

actually pwede na tayong magbid for asian games dahil cohesive naman ang mga venues naten. at interconnected with mass transpo except phil. arena plus madaming venues na may 5,000+ seater arena and stadium. kulang nalang ng minimum na 40k seater na stadium na requirement for Asian Games plus athletes village. syempre kulang sa suporta mula sa gobyerno esp funds for the athletes
  • thirdPersonthirdPerson Member PExer
Actually, Pilipinas ang nagpauso nung hotels instead of athletes' village. Back in 2005, ganun na ginawa ng Pinas kase nga kalat ang venues sa Pilipinas.

Naalala ko after 2006 Asiad, naging interesado ang Pilipinas to bid for 2019. Tapos ngayon we ended up with SEA Games. Ang mahirap kase sa 40,000+ seater na stadium, magiging white elephant lang pagkatapos since we are not a football-mad country.
  • goodpersongoodperson Member Volleyball Vanguard
OT. easy na siguro ngayon ang stadium na ganyan. best example is arena corinthians. used for 2014 FIFA World Cup.

during the games. 70000 ang requirement for FIFA.
    800px-Brazil_and_Croatia_match_at_the_FIFA_World_Cup_%282014-06-12%3B_fans%29_17.jpg

    800px-Arena_Corinthians_West_Building.jpg

after the games. 50000 nalang ang capacity. thats at least 10000 each for both wings ang temporary seats.
    19421335280_a39a348605_b.jpg
    cto

in our case Phil. Sports stadium can remove its roof for the mean time tapos iinstall ang temporary seats sa both sides.at least 10000 each. since 20-25k ata capacity ng stadium. after the games iinstall ulet ang roof.

As I've mentioned may itatayong residential buildings sa CDV so kung papayag ang INC pwede munang gawing athletes' village yun.
The current Molave Residence Hall in UPD was the billeting quarters of India back then.

Back in 2005, wala pang MOA Arena, Philippine Arena, Philippine Sports Stadium, SMX Convention Center, Solaire Arena at Philippine Sports Center (underconstruction).
Upgraded na din ang Araneta Coliseum, San Juan Arena at Ynares Center.

Kung sa Opening and CLosing Ceremonies naman Phil. Arena has huge indoor and outdoor LED screens in place sa venue. The City of Manila used 3D mapping sa 2015 New Year's countdown nila when they did a lights and sound show sa mga buildings along Roxas Boulevard. Miss Philippines Earth 2012 used hologram technology sa pageant night nila. LED lights in props and costumes has become more accessible. Local fireworks manufacturers are also at par pagdating sa pyromusicals. If the organizers could add these technology available to the talent pool we have in performing arts, we can mount a spectacular opening and closing ceremonies.

ABS-CBN Sports is capable of digital HD broadcast. HD cameras na gamit nila sa UAAP. Mas marunong na din sila sa large field coverage ever since they started covering football matches. Phil. media also uses aerial drones now.

All we need now is a good organizing committee that could pool all these resources in our backyard to mount a good hosting of the games. And who knows, maybe the next President would be ambitious enough to make this hosting as a coming out party for the Philippines. We have four years to prepare, 3 years for the next President.

  • goodpersongoodperson Member Volleyball Vanguard
i thought of building a velodrome and aquatics dahil specialized arena/venue sila. bihira ang private company na magkakainteres na magpatayo ng ganyang facilities. unless you are involved in sports like INC's Unity Games, UAAP, NCAA, etc. (with regards to indoor cycling, parang wala pa nga e)

it is a good investment for the Philippines. especially if you wanted to train and attract good athletes. and of course if you want to stage an international event.

the problem is baka matengga ang mga venues na ganyan since specialized sila so baka bihirang magamit. siguro pwede sigurong irenovate nalang ang amoranto. gawing indoor track. $$ nga lang.

aside from amoranto meron pa ba tayong velodrome?
