Up for this. Ako din, gusto ko ma-try. I have a Paypass and payWave-enabled card, pero di ko pa nagagamit either. I've seen several McDonald's stores in Makati having a contactless card terminal -- so far, sa New Glorietta, Landmark Foodcourt, at SM Makati -- pero pag lagi kong tinatanong kung gumagana ba, laging sagot nila ay "offline" daw. That time, may promo na pag ginamit ang Paypass/payWave for a purchase above 100 pesos, may free McFlurry. Haha!

They accept payWave payments dati, I believe.

Madami. Nung natry ko yun sa Red Ribbon I had to expressly state sa ale na nasa cashier na yung paywave technology ang gamitin instead na i-swipe. It was so ironic na di alam nung ale how it works when there was even a flyer shown in that Red Ribbon branch that visa paywave technology is available in that branch. Kinailangan pa talaga niyang tawagin manager niya para lang masubukan yung transaction thru paywave. Ibang scenario naman nangyari sa pepper lunch, kasi me promo sila nun aside from the fact that they do have a flyer stating they are paywave-capable.

McDonalds, CBTL, Bon Chon, French Baker, Kenny Rogers, Krispy Kreme, Mercury Drug, J. Co, Starbucks and Sbarro..

Last store na napuntahan ko Starbucks in Capitol Commons and Krispy Kreme sa Greenbelt 5. Next time haha!

All Mcdo are always offline, don't know kung bakit e last december pa nila inannounce that they are now accepting contactless payments.
Seems like the staffs/cashiers are not trained in this new payment feature.

i didnt know na pede pala gamitin yung expresspay ni AMEX to payPass/payWave enabled terminals.
  • van2012van2012 PEx Veteran ⭐⭐

I was wondering if credit cards have QR Pay facility. So if ever you could choose Credit Card QR Pay or the physical credit card. parang magandang idea.

I’m not sure pero parang I’ve read somewhere na meron na sa ibang countries particularly sa China and Singapore.

    http://unionpayintl.com/en/mediaCenter/newsCenter/companyNews/3069.shtml

Hoping they would include Philippines sa model areas nila sa southeast asia para maging wider ang acceptance for Unionpay cardholders

    correct...

Paymaya, Gcash and Coinsph are already using QRPay

SM, Robinsons, Ayala Malls are already accepting QR Pay via prepaid.

So why not banks switch to credit card QR pay?
  • piquanteyepiquanteye Member PEx Expert 🎖️
I really think they need to upgrade POS terminal again to accept universal QR Pay? Just like Rakuten Pay?
  • kwiker03kwiker03 PEx Rookie ⭐
I think locally issued credit cards are still in the transition phase of contactless technology/tap. If I’m not mistaken not all credit cards have visa paywave nor mastercard paypass feature. Recently lang din nagchange ang BDO POS terminals to accomodate tap method instead of swipe/dip.

Mukhang matatagalan pa bago ma-accomodate ang credit card QR code payment.

I think better if we get Apple Pay (or similar for Samsung/Android) implementation.

Better option indeed for people who has NFC enabled mobile phones.

Correct me if I'm wrong na majority ng mga Filipinos use mobile phones na not NFC enabled. Atleast with QR pay they just need their phone's camera.
