Safest Places to Live in Manila?

I'm planning to move to Manila and find a job there, but I'm worried about my safety. I'd just like to know which places or areas in Manila are the safest to live in? Flood-free places with low crime rates? I'm planning to rent a place, so I also have to consider my budget. Any ideas or recommendations? Thanks. :)

*okay*

Thanks! :) Clueless kasi ako since it will be my first time to be away from home na hindi short trips. Pero nag-apply ako sa mga companies located in Makati and also those in Pasay and along Roxas Blvd. Saan ba magandang mag-stay if I do get hired in these locations?

No risk,no job,no house, no money but full of thrill ang buhay.Kaya makipaglaban ka,it's up to your "ability" kung papaano mo haharapin yun.

Sa mga residential areas dun may nagpapa bedspace, room for rent, apartment
etc. Though it's not entirely flood free.
brgy. palanan, pasong tamo, st. paul, jp rizal. dami dun.

If you want condo, may cityland dela rosa .

it's going to be about 30k/ month for a condo with a relatively secure location and flood free, with all the creature comforts nearby.

and i'm talking about macapagal side.

cityland delarosa binabaha dyan ng mabilis. bumabangka pa nga dyan si binay dati pag baha. LoL.
(yep, saw it on tv). but just don't leave pag may bagyo. it's that simple.

though cheap ang rent dyan. approx 15k. the units themselves aren;t that great. it's just barebones, low cost condo living.

but convenience is there.. nearby sm and cash and carry, and a wet market. near spa calls, very accessible even public transportation wise. lrt, pnr/ trains, buses, jeepneys, taxis.

    skyway right beside it.

and the building maintenance team does a great job with err maintaining. especially compare it to megaworld maintenance crew.. kahit na yung chippipay na tiles na papa kintab nila. they're that good.

mandaluyong is safe.I've been here for over 6 years at kahit anytime ako lumabas dito ayos lang.mababait pa mga tao.as for cost of rent depende sa budget mo.room ba o apartment hanap mo?
  • The high end villages like Forbes, Dasma and Ayala Alabang are safe, safe enough that residents don't bother putting up gates or even fences around their houses. When your househelper is going out, security even asks for her ID or they call the house for confirmation. Actually it's so strict that some residents find it such a nuisance or a heavy inconvenience.

Well, I've once watched the show ANG PINAKA and they named Cebu as the most livable city in Philippines. I can't entirely say that it's totally accurate but they do have a point when they described the reason for being at top 1. Generally, they said that it's a better alternative than the too crowded Manila.

It made me realize why a lot of my foreigner acquaintances often mention Cebu aside from Manila. My cousins travel to Cebu to study medical related courses in its big universities. Some of my Manilenya friends went there to work. I didn't realize all these things till I saw that survey. I was curious till I had the opportunity to visit that place this year. What I've noticed is their more organized public transportation system and for some reason I've seen lots of foreigners walking in the street and many beautiful looking Filipinas too. (Good eye candy for the guys lol)

I'm not entirely saying that Cebu is the best but based from what I've seen and heard, that city seems promising too.

Sorry kung sobrang OT TS, just responding.
