Uniwide Coastal Mall

I want to know what's your share on Uniwide Coastal Mall? I remember when I was still in my elementary days my school decided to take us students in the mall wherein there's a museum inside: if my memory serves me right, it's two museums: one called Man and His Environment and one is all about ocean and marine biodiversity. Looking back, I think Uniwide Coastal Mall is THE mall for everything affordable. Now, some parts of the exterior were scrapped to metal sheets and a few areas are abandoned for the reason that the parking space became the South West Integrated Bus Terminal where I go board and alight the bus to my office.

What's your memory with Uniwide? :)

only time i have ever been there was when i went to my cousin's kid's birthday party. mayroon party event place on the side fronting coastal road.
  • Third time na ko nakapunta dyan...

First, when I was Grade 1 year 1998. Nag field trip kami dyan. Nanood kami ng sine tungkol sa religion.

Second, Grade 3 year 2001. Field trip. Tungkol sa anatomies and exotic animals pinuntahan namin.

Third, Grade 5 year 2003. Nag field trip ulit kami diyan. Pinuntahan namin ulit yung mga nakadisplay about sa anatomy and animals such as snakes, fishes, tarantulas etc.

  • Sayang. The company crashed during the 1997 financial crisis. It's under receivership now and embroiled in litigation. I believe during that time, it was poised to become the flagship project of the Uniwide group which wanted to be the number one retailer, even ahead of SM.

There were already a few establishments then and as mentioned, field trip venues for students.

I truly hope they reach a resolution because at the rate Pagcor City is developing, that is one huge prime piece of property.

speaking of field trip.. sa araneta center sa... festival carnivale?

ay exhibit din dati na dinosaurs. not sure if they're animatronic though.
  • When I was working in PNB we used to hold bowling practices here because the bowling lanes were clean, well-maintained, and cheap. I don't know if it's still there.

Shocks!!!

  • Speaking of Harrison, why have they not renovated it? It's in prime location. It's full of prostitutes.

Money problems. Harrison Plaza owes the City of Mla in the hundreds of millions. As a matter of fact, there was a time the paid parking area was run by the City gov't as a way of collecting debt.

You're right though - that is one prime location in the heart of Manila- Taft Ave., DLSU, CCP, Roxas Blvd., etc.

And yes, they should get rid of those prostis who ply their trade in broad daylight.

Nice me thread na tungkol dito.

Parang half the mall is currently operating literal na half nalang ata or one third nalang because other entrance doors are left empty and abandoned. If only someone can revive the building, I mean, to be like a railway station or renovate it like a proper bus station something like that.

ngayon ang creepy na niya. perfect location of a horror/thriller film.
