I love how most Pinoys are in touch with their history.

yung bayanihan system. wherever you are, pinoys will be there to lend a helping hand.

unless, youre a threat. pansin ko ang pinoy, may pagka territorial. gusto ng iba, sila ang pinoy pop "star" sa dept or office nila.:hiya:

may kasamahan kaming med tech, ganyan. may tradition kasi kami, initiated by our ates and kuyas here sa area namin. nung una naming dating hinahatid sundo pa nila kami sa groceries, sa pagpunta sa ibat ibang ahensya like pagkuha ng driving license etc.

:glee:
  • yung kahit may problema sa buhay nakukuha pa nila ngumiti at tumawa.

I've been too critical of Filipino traits to really say it.

Otherwise known as BAHALA NA attitude.

there are two aspects of BAHALA NA: the negative one, which you alluded to

and the positive one reflected by the English saying "I'll do my best while I let God do the rest."

The perspective of the school of thought Sikolohiyang Pilipino is interesting in this regard.

pero most of us, continued that tradition of bayanihan. yung mga ganun na nakinabang sa tulong namin, at biglang nag damot or nagsasabing "wala naman silang obligasyon". tinitiwalag na namin.

hindi naman kelangan maging consistent, kahit once a year ka lang tumulong, ano ba naman yung pakikipag kapwa tao. basta at least, makisama ka, kahit minsan lang, since nakinabang ka rin naman dati.

I'm happy to say that Filipinos will go out of their way to help someone in need.

A good example would be those guys in the cashiers wrapping or packing stuff in the grocery bags. In the U.S., specially in Walmart, employees there wouldn't even think about doing anything outside their job description but here in the Philippines it's almost a MUST to help the customers even with things like making a make-shift box to the customer's liking or even help carry an item or two to the parking lot.

Also, as much negativity it might have garnered in some places, our happiness despite hardship is both amusing and annoying.

There's a third one: "God will take care of it/I'll let God do everything/I'll leave my problems to God."

Kaya nga may kasabihang "Nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa."

Family oriented most of em anyway

Many pinoys I know are maasikaso.

Seryoso sa work at maaasahan. Kaya nga lang after work ay lumalabas na ang kayabangan.

Another trait I like in many Pinoys is their belief that no matter how bad things are today, things will get better.
