  • Whoa! Thats a complete way to upgrade my car's performance. Very nice! But im looking for a minor upgrade lang muna sana. Since i cant afford to have the engine change to b16a. Whats a "Dyno tune"? and where can i have my car Dyno Tuned? and how much kaya yun?

And with regards to my Car's tires and suspension, its sitting on 15s spoon with 65 series 195 Yokohama tires. Also installed spoon lowering springs on the front.

    minor upgrade?

    air intake and headers :)
  • Start first with bolt-ons, i.e. intake=free-flow filter and/or cold-air intake (K&N filter + Simota tube), headers (preferably mandrel bent, 1.75in tubes), then pipings (at least 2in tubes), lastly mufflers (any brand basta JASMA-certified para quiet at the low rpms).

Put decals, stickers and emblems. RalliArt or Nismo
    Jk

Quickest way is install a racing filter (Simota or K&N), headers and racing mufflers (Tanabe)
Other mods can be added if you have the resources are engine swap (B18 or K20), Garrett turbocharger kit, ECU chip, Apex turbo timer, Tein suspension, roll cage, bore and port polish and the works. While you're at it, throw in a couple of NOS bottles for instant boost of hp. It would be great to reduce the weight of your car so consider upgrading your doors, hood and trunk ato carbon fiber and your car windows to acrylic.
  • engine tune up muna and change oil. Then cold air intake, manifold na naka thermal wrap, engine chipping.

You will most likely loose a bit of acceleration due to your thick tires. 195-55-15 is the ideal tire size for your car. Also since you have got front lowering springs, why did you forget the rear? That setup would most likely get you into an accident.

Once you have those bolt on mods installed, don't ever forget to upgrade the brakes. Get performance brake pads, rear disc brakes.
  • depende yan sa budget paps...

    cheapest way
use good engine oil, lesser friction lesser heat, lesser restriction

use zero resistance plug and wires, pwde naman yan i test mo ang resistance level...there are also other methods to improve electrical system of your car that will definitely improve performance.. yung tested talaga..

remove unwanted things inside your car including sa trunk
dagdag load sa kotse mo yan

CAI and headers yan lesser than 4k gastos mo dyan hanap lang nang 2nd hand, go for 4-2-1 headers since gamit mo pang street lang.. hata2x..with heatwraps on

remove restrictions sa exhaust system mo, putol-dikit using pipe

  • Im thinking of installing CAI kaso LXI iba *** Intake Manifold kelangan daw yung pang VTI gamit ko. Tama Ba yun mga idol?
And then isa pang mods naiisip ko is Adjustable Cam gears. Will it add power din ba?
And practical ba mag install ng Adjustable CG?

How about just getting a drop-in filter from K&N? Cam-gears? Try the IHE route first (making your engine breath easier and release more horses). Yung cam-gears kasi, you are not really releasing the power, but just moving it around.

Drop in filter? So basically Filter lang sya db? K & N? and Whats IHE Route sir? Sorry Dont know much about engine pa e. Still learning.http://www.pinoyexchange.com/forums/images/icons/icon11.png

Yup it looks like the stock filter, but its made by K&N and better than stock. IHE or Intake (filter and/or cold-air intake piping), Headers (mandrel-bent exhaust manifold with equal lengths and smooth bends) and Exhaust (larger diameter exhaust pipings with minimal and mandrel-bent bends as well as JASMA-spec performance muffler).

The K&N filter are quite costly will it add performance and HP pag yun kinabit ko? And for CAI i have a different intake manifold e. Kaya was thinking of buying Intake manifold ng pang VTI so i could install them CAI with pipes and cone HKS or simota filters.

As for my muffler. Im using Apexi muffler.

It will be cheaper in the long run, K&N filters are washable, it will about 2-5HP since stock paper filters are restrictive. There are CAIs for the LXi (not sure what the engine code for it is but I have seen some setups) like this:
    honda-civic-lxi-04.jpg?i

No need to get a manifold from a VTi.

Oh thanks sir Kelunji! Saw some mods na alike. Rekta ang ginagawa. And ill probably will buy the K&N Filters nalang. So i could keep the Stock Look of my engine. Instead of CAI. Kaso when i browse sa Net i couldn't find Drop in Filters K&N for LXI. Even sa sulit. Pang FD lang meron.

San po kaya ko makakabili ng K&M Drop in Filter?
And headers? Will it add more power if lets say ill change it to 4-2-1 headers?

    Appreciate your Feedback sir!
  • ^Try Speedlab.
  • Speedlab is quite expensive if you're just after purchasing simple mods like an iceman unit. Btw, halos walang silbi ang naka performance filter ka pero ang hinihigop nyang hangin is yung init ng hangin na naka kulong sa loob ng makina.. you'll lose hp if your air filter doesn't have a heat shield.

A link about "performance" air filters. Very informative.

The TS is bitin in acceleration, because he is using a thicker tire which is 65 series instead of 55 series. A 1500cc engine would have a hard time to accelerate from a standstill since the rotation of the tire is bigger. Remember that the stock tire is 185 65 14. While he is using 195 65 15. The closest is 195 55 15.

Kaya nga in lieu of the cone-type filter, get the drop-in type. Its the same size as the stock, and you still get to use the stock heatshield and intakes w/c suck air from the front of the grill.
  • Thanks for the Info sir! Will save money for the K&N Drop in's. But one thing im looking out sir is installing Headers. 421 stainless ones with thermal wrap.
Will it add significant amount of HP? Will it add power? Thanks! Thats what im looking at na madali lang ikabit.
Air filter and headers. Im going to start from those mods sana. Okay lang ba yun? Thanks mga bossing!

IHEs by themselves don't really add power (maybe some), but release whats already there. Kumbaga eh, sinakal lang ng manufacturer to keep within reliability and economical limits. For instance, yung headers, the manufacturer deemed the stock ones, good enough but cheap and easy to manufacture. You don't really need stainless ones btw, especially if you will wrap them anyway. I had 421 GI headers (1.75in) and exhaust pipings (2in) made by Mufflerland (P12k all in) in my Lancer. Coupled with a K&N cone filter, custom stainless intake pipe (also from Mufflerland) and Tanabe muffler, ang dulas ng acceleration. If you really want to add power, start adding a piggyback ECU (e.g. Apexi SAFC), fuel regulator, etc. Of course thast going to cost you.
