MANILA -- Even while she is still busy with the hit game show "Bet On Your Baby," actress Judy Ann Santos is already gearing up for her newest hosting job as ABS-CBN announced its biggest and newest reality show "I Do."

On Monday, Santos, along with ABS-CBN executives led by TV Production head Laurenti Dyogi, attended the blessing of the show's "reality village" at Lancaster Estates in Cavite.

According to Santos, "I Do" is an original reality show of ABS-CBN, which has scored several hits with franchised versions of foreign shows such as "Pinoy Big Brother" and "The Voice of the Philippines."

In "I Do," which will air in the last quarter of the year, nine couples will live in the Cavite village. The winning pair will get the wedding of their dreams, as well as a house and lot and a car, the host-actress said.

"It's actually to inspire people na kailangan kilalanin muna nila ang ka-partner nila for the rest of their lives. So nandito kami to guide them kung ano talaga ang proseso kung halimbawang naging mag-asawa sila," she said.

It's a vow na kailangang panindigan," she stressed, noting that the show will have marriage councilors, who will tell the contestants about the harsh realities of married life.

Santos pointed out the Cavite village was created just for the show, which will be co-hosted by comedian and former "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) housemate Jason Gainza.

"Bongga talaga siya at napakabonggang pressure din ito para sa akin," admitted Santos, who previously hosted the reality cooking show, "MasterChef Pinoy Edition."

Santos has been married to host-actor Ryan Agoncillo for five years and her own experiences as a wife and mother will be put to good use in "I Do."

So it's fun, but at the same time, it's a test sa akin kung kakayanin ko ba."

Santos describes the complexity of the show as "Pinoy Big Brother" multiplies five times since there are several houses for the contestants, each monitored by 11 cameras.

"Siguro at the end of the year magiging famous ang village na ito at ang cute niya, parang Lego," Santos said.

Meanwhile, Santos announced that she aready started taping the second season of her current game show, "Bet On Your Baby."

Judy Ann Santos to Host The Newest Reality Show on TV, “I DO”

Acclaimed actress and TV personality Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo was revealed as the host of “I Do,” a reality show originally conceptualized by ABS-CBN that will feature couples who want to tie the knot.

Judy Ann led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, blessing, and tour of the “I Do” Village where the participating couples will reside and their relationship be tested before facing the altar.

“This village was especially built for this show. We will give the couples challenges not to break them apart, but to strengthen their relationship so they become more mature in dealing with life,” said Judy Ann.

Judy Ann hopes that the program will guide the participating couples and make them get to know each other better by immersing them in possible situations they may encounter if they get married. Viewers will track their progress as cameras will record their every move 24/7.

“This is the first time I’m doing a show that’s similar to ‘Pinoy Big Brother,’ but this is ‘PBB’ times five. All issues will be tackled here – from having kids, living with the in-laws, to expenses. We hope we inspire couples and show them that marriage is an eternal vow and a commitment,” she said.

Aside from hosting the program, Judy Ann will also sit as member of the council as a homemaker, along with love and family experts who will give advice to the participating couples.

“I feel tense because I’ve only been married for five years, so my ability to give advice and share my experiences will be tested. I’m glad that I’m doing a show no one has ever done before,” shared Judy Ann.

The event at the “I Do” village was attended by ABS-CBN TV production head Laurenti Dyogi, the program’s business unit head Mercee Gonzales, and other executives from ABS-CBN’s TV entertainment division.

The reality show’s winning pair is off to a good start as husband and wife because they will be rewarded with a grand wedding, a honeymoon package, a new car, a house and lot, and P1 million.

Judy Ann has headlined several hosting projects including reality shows “Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition” and “MasterChef Pinoy Edition,” for which she won the Best Reality Show Host award at the PMPC Star Awards for TV. Judy Ann is the current host of top-rating game show “Bet On Your Baby” that is close to her heart as a mother.

MANILA - Comedian Jason Gainza considers his newest television project as a huge challenge, saying that this is his first real hosting stint.

Gainza said his role in the upcoming reality show "I Do" with Judy Ann Santos is "more serious" than what he has been doing in the defunct travel program "Trip na Trip."

"Kinakabahan kasi mapapasabak na tayo sa hosting kasi hindi naman tayo nagho-hosting," he said in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBNnews.com. "Nagho-hosting ako before pero kalokohan 'yon, as ako 'yon, 'yung sa 'Trip na Trip.' Pero ito medyo seryoso ito at informative."

Aside from "I Do," Gainza is also busy with the sitcom "Home Sweetie Home" and the comedy show "Banana Nite."
  • Judy Ann Santos wants to get pregnant this year; talks about going out on dates with Ryan Agoncillo
    By Rachelle Siazon
    02/24/14 07:37 pm

Pahayag ni Judy Ann, “Ayoko mag-commit na I can do this for six months or for a year, because my main priority now is to get pregnant.

"I don’t want people to think that I am being selfish when it comes to work.

"I try to be honest to everybody na priority right now is to get pregnant.

“So, kung may project, if you can wait, I will do the project after giving birth.”

Wala namang nahihinto.

"Ayoko siya isipin na 35 years old na ako, baka hindi na ako magka-baby.

"I try to relax. If it happens, it will happen.

“For now, siguro gusto rin ni God na medyo relaxed lang yung schedule ko, so we can give priority to the family and having a baby,” saad ng actress-host.

“Pero feeling ko, when you put so much effort in it, dun mas nawawala yung love, kasi napipilitan ka na lang.

“When you love what you’re doing, parang wala lang.”

“Nagagawan lang namin ng paraan na hindi kami magsalita when it comes to personal problems, especially with the family.

We still love playing together, we love outdoors.

“Siguro hindi lang kami masyadong seryoso when we deal with problems.

“If it happens, maybe it’s because we needed to learn from this problem. We take it a day at a time.”

UPCOMING REALITY SHOW.

“Yung [Pinoy] Master Chef kasi, it’s a show I love watching.

"Yung Bet On Your Baby, it’s a show that I love doing with kids.

“Ang I Do Village, wala kang maikukumparang show kasi hindi naman siya ginaya sa kahit ano’ng bansa. It’s an original concept.”

Isa ako sa mga nagde-decide who will go out.

"Natatakot ako na people might think na, 'Sino ka ba para magsalita ng ganyan? Sino ka ba para magbigay ng advice, e, you’re just married for five years?'

“People can be rude at times.

“Nandun yung kaba, but I’m willing to face that challenge,” pagtatapos niya.

The one-minute preview, which premiered on prime time Friday, shows host Judy Ann Santos explaining the original concept of "I Do," with a montage of the specially constructed village for contestants in Cavite.

The winning couple, which will be determined through a series of challenges that will test the contestants' relationships, will be given P1 million and a house, in addition to their dream wedding.

When it was first announced in June 2013, "I Do" urged couples who are 18 years old and above, are not cohabiting or in a "live-in" relationship, and must "truly love each other and believe they can live a happy married and family life with each other" to join.

"I Do" is expected to premiere on ABS-CBN later this year.

MANILA - ABS-CBN has released the full trailer for "I Do," its new reality TV series featuring 9 couples looking for a head start on married life.

The extended preview gives a closer look at the "I Do" village in Cavite where the couple-contestants will live for the duration of the show. It also gives the first glimpse of the couples' faces.

A montage of the contestants' interactions sees one couple in a sweet moment, and another in an apparent argument.

In a dramatic moment in the trailer, the female contestants are each left with the decision to wear a white dress as they emerge in the courtyard, where their respective partners are waiting. Wearing the dress would signify their resolve to get married.

The winning couple, which will be determined through a series of challenges that will test and strengthen the contestants' relationships, will be given P1 million and a house, in addition to their dream wedding.

Throughout the competition, the couples will be guided by life coach Pia Acevedo, pyschologist and marriage counselor Dr. Julian Montano, as well as host Judy Ann Santos, herself a wife of five years with two children.

Joining Santos as co-host is Jason Gainza.

According to the trailer, "I Do," which is billed as an original concept and a first on Philippine television, will premiere later this month.
