Ford Everest or Subaru Forester

Good day pexers. Ask ko lang ang advantages and disadvantages ng dalawa since Hindi naman nagkakalayo sa presyo. I'm planning to get mid size suv's by January Any tips and inputs will be highly appreciated thanks

- truck-based SUV
- higher ground clearance
- diesel engine (malakas ang hatakan)
- can seat 7 persons
- high maintenance

Forester
- car-like comfort
- good ground clearance
- cheaper to maintain IMO, since it's gasoline
- power (240 HP)
- can seat 5 persons

I have a Ford Everest Limited 2013, the one who has a gray colored interior, leather na siya.

Nag scout ka na ba around ng Ford? By the way, ang Ford Cainta ang pinaka malaking mag discount, nakuha ko na 110,000 ang discount sa kanila, I fully paid the unit cash though, so nabili ko siya ng 1,430,000 last May lang.

Free LTO, tint, and matting. Although bumili pa ako ng another matting sa ACE hardware. Gusto ko kasi rubber.

sa iba kasi (ang napagtanungan ko eh Ford Libis, Cainta, The Fort, Balintawak) eh nasa 70-80K lang ang kaya nilang ibigay.


pro for me:

-malakas ang makina
-kahit malaki siya, magaan ang steering wheel, para ka lang nag bump car LOL, we have an AT variant
- hindi malakas sa gas kahit matic pa
- super luwag ng leg room, american size kasi, kahit yung pinaka likod, super luwag pa din
- 7 seater, pero kaya siya ng 8 dahil maluwag nga.
-pwede mo i-forward sa baha, bukod sa mataas siya, yung makina daw niya eh waterproof (hindi ko pa na try though hehe)

siyempre ang pinaka gusto ko sa kanya: classic POGI.

I cant recall the everest being "powerful"?
A 140hp, 330nm rear wheel drive only, rear drum brales, 5 speed tranny? My 2012 sorento 2.2 vgt crdi 197hp, 430nm torque engine runs rings around it and is just 1.3 mil. Besides if you guys dont know yet that there will be a new everest next yr, not a face lifted version like now. It will have a totally new body based on the T6 platform, 2 new duratorq engines.

The new forester is a 2.0L turbo unlike the prev gen which was a 2.5L I think. Comes only in all wheel drive.

These two vehicles are completely different and very much hard to compare. Everest is an suv while the forester is a crossover. Everest is only a rear wheel drive with old leafspring suspension. Forester is an awd with multi suspension. everest diesel, forester gas.

If your lifestyle would be more utilitarian then go for the everest but wait off till the intro of the new model. If you're more into socializing and the party scene then go.for the forester.

Don't get the idea that the forester is easoer to maintain coz its a gas engine. Easy maintenance will primarily depend on availability of parts and mechanics who knows the forester's turbo engine. Oo nga may diesel version ang forester but I don't know if its going to be marketed here?

Agree with j luna. Two different beasts so not too easy to compare, the tribeca would be the closer comparison to the everest (classification wise). Or the escape to the forester.

That said, if price is the main point of reference for the comparison. Then it all depends on your needs and intention for the unit.

Btw, the 2.0 non turbo forester is a good drive too. Cheaper too.

Tama, ang pagbili naman talaga ng sasakyan, eh depende sa pangangailangan mo.

Una diyan ang comfort, saan ka ba comfortable to use on a daily basis?

Dapat kasi yung gusto mo, at magiging comfortable ka, kasi hindi naman biro ang halaga ng isang sasakyan, dapat yung magiging happy ka in the long run of using it diba

Thanks sa mga inputs nyo boss... lalo na saan pwede makamura malaki ang percent ng forester sa akin untill nag ask ako ng opinions nyo dito sa forum... i just dont know the reason baket hindi sa region/country natin available ang diesel na forester. anyway gusto ko nga malaki ang leg room which is ang everest ang +1 dun... eto pa ang isang factor na dapat i condsider ko:

forester may 2nd seat pero ang laki compartment

everest may 3rd seat pero i dont know kung matawag mo pa na compartment ang space nya sa 3rd seat.

kasi nasabe nyo na with regards sa engine and budget

but im really excited sa bagong mukha ng everest... im just wondering when will this new everest be availble in the market? sana by january or feb na..

^ sa tsikot usapan na 2014 mid daw, meron naman nagsasabi na early months ng 2015.

Ford lang ang nakakaalam talaga ng release date hehe.

Dapat nga aantayin ko yan, yung 2014 new everest, kasi super pogi naman talaga, parang Nissan Armada, yung gulong niya sa likod, wala na, nasa ilalim na.

Kaso we already need a new SUV, tapos siyempre dahil all new, may mga issues pa yan, na mareresolve lang sa facelift.

so kung talagang willing ka to wait, why don't you wait the release of the new everest 2014 na facelifted na.

at least, kung anumang issues ang nakita nila sa new released, na correct na nila sa facelift, IMO lang naman.

Sedan= forester

Budget= ford
Deep wallets= the other

Technology= The same.

Looks= Varies/No one cares.. duh..

Y nt peugeot or volks or land rover or buy a lot?

And best of all, don't look at the freebies.

I owned an old Everest and it is one tough truck. It may not be the fastest but it got the job done (if i wanted speed then i'd just stick to a car right?). There was a unit that got stuck in the river in Tanay before so they had to leave it for several days and wait for the water to go down. They changed the fluids and put in a new battery and drove it back to Manila.

On Everest vs. Forester, what are your needs and wants? The Forester will be more carlike and faster while the Everest is more utilitarian. Do a test drive of both as well to help you decide.

Hi Sir when do you think the new Everest will be out in the market because these days Ford so so busy promoting their EcoSport, would it still be possible that the new Everest will be available in our country/region
