If I remember correctly Junmar and Greg were named co MVP one time during their Cebu days, but I think Greg’s team won the championship.

The matchup between the two will be interesting, but let’s remember that JF has a one year advantage in PBA experience.

Also, we’ll have to see just how Greg will be utilized in BGK. With Cagi, LA and Japeth I don’t think they’ll just be dumping the ball down low to Greg. They will probably ease him into the game slowly, like Junmar, who needed a couple of conferences to adjust, though it could have been quicker if he didn’t get injured.

    Great thread.
We can update and see their match-ups.

Although slaughter will need to adjust first in the 'big boys' league while Junemar slowly is being the yardstick for PBA bigmen still this'll be an interesting rivalry to watch.

During his two years in CESAFI; Greg Slaughter led his team to 2 championships. Won 2 MVP's for both season.

And Slaughter also made a record in the league (CESAFI) by winning 3 MVP awards in one Season. (League MVP, All-Star MVP, Finals MVP in one season)

Yung mga humihirit dito na mas magaling daw si fajardo kaysa kay slaughter during their Cesafi days are posers. Di naman ninyo alam ang nangyari. Nakiki-ride-on lang kayo.

Siya ang sentro ng National Team natin for international competions since Gilas was formed. Kaya di siya nakasali sa FIBA 2013 ay dahil inayos niya yung records niya both sa america at sa pinas at citizenship niya para sa PBA Draft this year. Ayaw ni Coach Chot yun kasi that would mean he will not be attending their practices kaya tinanggal siya sa team.

Slaughter is almost 7'0" without shoes so he can be considered 7'1" with shoes. It seems both Fajardo and Slaughter have grown an inch since their CESAFI days since their height listing then was 6'9 and 6'11.

We're not denigrating Slaughter's contribution to the National Team. In fact he seemed more ready than June Mar to contribute to the Gilas based on their performance against the visiting Chinese team. But the fact is he hasn't excactly dominated in college and in the D League and June Mar has dominated the PBA last confy after starting the first confy with an injury.

By the way who can give the stats of Slaughter and Fajardo in CESAFI in the season that they played against each other?

    Tune Up Game:

Greg vs. Rain or Shine - 15 points, 18 rebounds
Junemar - wala pang tune up game

15 pts 18 rebs. For a rookie in a tune up game is something to look forward..

Another side matches that I am looking forward to this coming Conference are those that will pit Fajardo against Taulava and Slaughter vs Taulava. It will be interesting to see how the young ones will go against the rejuvenated veteran who had sterling performance with Air21 last conference.

kahit keylan hindi nanalo ang team ni fajardo (Universiy of cebu) sa team ni slaugther (University of the Visayas) sa series. minamama lang ni slaugther yan si fajardo. but it was 3 years ago, both players malaki na ang development. kaya exciting ang rivalry nila sa pba although tingin ko mas may advantage si fajardo dahil magagaling ang teammates nya. pagdating sa coaches TABLA lang, parehonh BANO :rotflmao:

Totoo ba yan ely? If yes, then that's impressive.

This is the first time Fajardo will face a defender taller than him in the PBA.
  • black_spectreblack_spectre Member PEx Veteran ⭐⭐
Greg and Japeth vs. Pingris and Sanggalang.

Hello daw sabi ni Bruno Sundov, Jerome Jordan at Henry Sims during practice. :glee:

But I think Jazzper is referring to the local PBA players.

Funny but someone said, Slaughter was better than Fajardo during their CESAFI days...

Here are their stats. Note that Fajardo started playing serious basketball in his FRESHMAN YEAR IN COLLEGE.

    2008 CESAFI

Slaughter Average Stats: 18.5 pts, 9.7 rebs. and 2.6 blks. per game

Fajardo Average Stats: 20.4 pts., 13.2 rebs. and 3.4 blks per game

    2009 CESAFI

Slaughter Average Stats: 19.2 pts, 9.4 rebs and 2.8 blks per game

Fajardo Average Stats: 25.8 pts, 14.6 rebs and 4.1 blks per game

If I'm not mistaken sumali pa yung 1 former UV player sa nakaraang draft. 3 heads are better than 1 so of course, panalo ang UV sa championship. duh! :naughty:

ang alam ko mas ok ang supporting cast ni GS kesa kay JF during CESAFI...or baka mabait lang ang extra rice kanina kay GS
