Paintings/Artwork being sold in Makati CBD streets

Hi guys and gals,

Anyone here who has seen guys peddling paintings/artwork of different Philippine scenes in Makati CBD? I've bought 3 paintings from one peddler 4 years ago. The last time I've seen these guys was early this year. Been trying to look for them but could not chance upon them.

Would like to buy 6 more of the same size paintings for my stairwell. The 3 are already there. I want my stairwell to be like a "gallery", instead of spending on deco stones on the firewall side. This would be the Filipiniana section in the house.

If you guys know a contact number of a guy/guys selling these paintings, kindly PM me.

Many thanks.

Neo

If I'm not mistaken, you should find a lot of them in Angono.

Thanks, MeFan_YouJane. I also thought of Angono, Rizal. But it's kinda far from my place. :( But I will give it a shot if I don't see the guys in Makati in November.

    Many thanks, m00nlight! :)

Talked to the guy and his daughter. Saw some of the pix. He indeed has similar paintings to the 3 that I have.

I might be making some deals with him, about the 6 paintings.

The price he's offering me is higher though, than the cost of my first batch of paintings. Pero we haven't finalized the price pa naman.

I also asked him about polyptych or multipanel artwork, di daw nya kaya yung ganun.
  • I also asked him if he could do Philippine history events like the ones by Botong Francisco. Kelangan daw nya ng malinaw na pagbabasehan. At yun ang mahirap hanapin. :(

good luck sa iyong painting/painter hunting!

korei depende sa style at sa artist.

meron kaming painting na malaki sa may sala my mom bought it for 50k
tapos me dalawa pa sa may gilid na 30k each mga approximately 35x25? not really sure basta around those dimensions yung frame.

yung hinahanap mong black and white more on prints or drawings yan. di paintings. pwede ring charcoal o kaya pen and ink artists.

Thanks, buzzkill. At sa info na din. :)

I got each painting for just PHP1,200 each.

  • Mejo nagustuhan ko yung Houses on Stilts. Although mejo parang may kulang. Parang mas maganda kung sunrise or sunset.

    capture34_zps274f96cc.jpg

Zamboanga din is ok. But the sails of the vintas should be more colorful.

    capture35_zps4666cff6.jpg

The Bayanihan is also nice. The concept is good. But there's something about the background na di ko trip. Masyadong symmetrical *** number ng banana and coconut trees. At siguro yung bahay kubo din. Parang di ko gusto ang style.

gusto ko yung top and bottom paintings pero tama ka yung houses on stilts kulang sa drama. better nga kung sunrise or sunset ang setting nya.

natawa ako sa comment mo dun sa number of banana plants and palm trees. medyo amateurish nga pag masyadong symmetrical no? you really have a discerning eye when it comes to paintings.

bale yung 1st two paintings 700 tapos yung last 1500

Thanks, buzzkill.

25in by 35 in talaga size nung canvass or pagkasama na yung frame? Yun bang PHP700 each ay canvass lang or with frame na?

Madami nga akong nakita paintings by the masters pa, pero di ko trip eh.

I got these frames from SM last week. Nagulat ako kasi PHP199.75 each lang sya. Eh malalaki yung frames. With glass pa. I bought 7 frames. 2 big rectangulars and 5 squares. Mga last items na. The bill was almost PHP1,400 and I only paid PHP300.

Last month naman, while waiting for someone, nakatyempo ako ng "frameless" or gallery wrapped artwork sa Landmark Makati. Sea shells naman. 3 different kinds. Bagay sa bedroom na reserved for Nanay. Original cost was PHP1,500 plus. Got them for just PHP1,020. But I only paid PHP20. Kasi may Landmark gift check pa ako worth PHP1,000 courtesy of Citibank rewards. Cool. :D I would just add a second background layer out of plywood. Instead of painting in black, I would just wrap it in black leatherette, and staple gun it sa seashell artwork.

But I am still hoping I would find the time before Christmas to make my own abstract multipanel "frameless" painting for my bedroom. Parang ganito:

  • Eto yung New York skyline in one multifunction guest bedroom.

This was actually out of a 6 feet by 6 feet shower curtain fabric I bought (chanced upon) sa bangketa ng Divisoria Ylaya. One panel costs PHP120. And out of scrap palochina, I made the frames and wrapped the fabric.
