Do you remember the first time you looked for work?
How was your first job hunting session go?
Was it difficult for you?
On my end I kept on looking for jobs for around 1-2 months until I got a call who recognized my volunteer activities from before.
What about you?

As the breadwinner of the family, I immediately joined the call center band wagon knowing that they offer higher salary than a regular job.
First call center - eTelecare Global Solutions.
when i formally graduated my dad's advice was not to resign unless i have a replacement job. this was hard because the call center shift was rotating. plus no one was taking notice of me. i resigned and kept on searching for about a month. and it was very depressing since no one was contacting me. i removed my call center experience from my resume but voluntarily disclosed this during the initial HR interview. it took about 2 1/2 weeks to land a job since removing the call center experience from my resume. i credit this to landing my first job since i only lasted in the call center for 4 months and advertised it as my "summer job" during the hr interviews.
How can I forget all of the walking, resume printing, talking to building security guards, going to interviews with the HR looking at you with a funny face and most specially who would forget companies who doesn't even give feedbacks! LOL.
Just a little advise - if you really want to be on the right field, you actually have got to wait for the job. Competition is really tough nowadays, be ready for companies to reject you but stay confident enough that you'll land that dream job sooner or later.
at nacocompare kasi sa mga kapatid ko regarding our schools and grades,
I have a brother na cumlaude at ako- bagsakan,
ako yung pinakamatagal bago nagkawork sa min. To sum it, from pt of graduation-7mos; from pt when I started jobhunting - 4 mos.
Then I failed an exam, na accdg to my batchmates, madali lang, sila nakapasok dun sa company.
Pero sarap ng feeling when I heard the words "Congratulations, you passed. Next is the JO".
First JO ko kasi.
3. Bakit naghahanap ka agad? Pa'no ka magre-review para sa board?
At ang usual na sagot ko:
1. Hindi ako pwede magpahinga
I felt I hit the bottom.
I was depressed.
In fact, after many or countless failures, i decided not to look for a job for almost 3 years. lucky for me, i was good in image/video editing at those times so i went freelance.
I and my family survived for 3 years earning so little.
Though, i judged myself many times that i am a failure I don't give up.
I am one of those person with disability (PWD), that's one of the reason I always failed in interviews.
So, I grabbed every opportunities that knocked.
When a programming job was offered to me for minimum wage salary, I grabbed it.
Then I found my strength, this disability of mine became a gift. I finally found a career that really suited to me. 5 years+ in my IT career, though i am not earning a lot but i feel the confidence in me and for me that's priceless.
All applications failed. I was debastated and thought no one will hire me.
Since my dad is an OFW at that time, I convinced my Mom that I will go back to school to take a second course, which is Accountancy. (It's a long story why I did not take this course in the first place)
It was easier to get a job back then with an Accounting degree than a Management degree. I started with my first job one month after finishing Accountancy.
Well for me... I was too idealistic and naive back then. Ngayon i can say i've matured and learned from those interviews.
I was planning to apply kung saan ako nag-OJT, Monolith. Sure pasok sana ako dun, pero i thought why not try muna sa iba. I took an exam sa MDC where my classmates were working na that time. They informed na tatawag na lang daw.
Then i saw a small ad sa Inquirer. I sent an email with my resume. I got a call kinabukasan for the interview. I was about to go on the second interview on the same day in a site office. But the interviewer told me not to apply anywhere else. Ambilis ah. Cge go!"
The rest is history. 7 years and counting.
