What is the catholic view of the End Times? Whats going to happen? Are there prophecies?

Saint Malachy Prophecy lang ang connected sa Roman Catholic church na galing sa miyembro ng Roman Catholic church.

Klaro naman ang sinasabi sa huli.

"In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit. Petrus Romanus,
    112. Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills [i.e. Rome] will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End.[14]"

Note bold text. Who will be the Judge in the End-times?
  • ^ yun lang?

what about in the bible? do catholics see any verses in there about the end times?

I think it is very appropriate for religions(*) to keep talking about the end times because they know THEIR end-time is coming soon.

(*) Catholicism is nowhere near the worst of this, rather, the cultic born-agains are.

Let the planets align, bring out a visible comet, or have a long drought; the Christians start getting crazy about the end of world. For people who are supposed to be excited to have an EB with Jesus, they actually sound panicky. In their anxiety, they don't care anymore if they mix up Nostradamus with the beliefs of the Mayans, the Sumerians or their local manghuhulas.

It seems to me that they don't really care about the end-times. Marami silang issues sa loob.

Not a specific RC prophecy. this is by Nostradamus. And it certainly points out the events that happened/to happen in 2013

"The great star for seven days shall burn
So nakedly clear like two suns appearing
The large dog all night howling
While the great Pontiff shall change his territory."

"The great star for seven days shall burn
So nakedly clear like two suns appearing

    Comet ISON (Soon to happen)

The large dog all night howling

An author out there points out that this pertains to Islamic uprisings. Which makes sense since dogs only howl on full moons. Crescent moon is the symbol of Islam. And the significant events these year are the prominent 2013 arab springs, MNLF in Zamboanga and Syria. (Happened, still happening)

While the great Pontiff shall change his territory."

Already happened. Checked. Pope Benedict the 16th "changed territories" by resigning.

    End-times!

Simple lang ang turo ng Catholic Church diyan, death then judgment to hell or heaven.

And yes we are now living in the end times. We have the same understanding of time with Judaism, ther is the time before Moses, the time of Moses, and the time of the Messiah.

How fricking morbid. What a depressing religion. Essentially: Life's a b*tch, then you die and go to hell.

Granted, earlier and more primitive religions are even more depressing and morbid (they didn't even have the concept of heaven, but just limbo/underworld). But we're supposed to be evolving towards a more enlightened understanding. Jesus tried to take the Jews beyond Judaism, but got rejected. "Saint" Paul picked up the pieces, morphed it according to his own ideas and spread it to the rest of the world (with immense success, I might add). But it is now time to drop this obsoleted set of "spiritual" ideas and go for more advanced and progressive stuff.
And yes we are now living in the end times. We have the same understanding of time with Judaism, ther is the time before Moses, the time of Moses, and the time of the Messiah.
That's the problem with neurotic theists, they are obsessed with the "end times" rather than just living life to its fullest. They have a major problem with enjoying life and are trying to infect everyone else with their neuroses.

Teal's got something to say about that:

When Jesus came, the message then was that it was already the end time. We have been on this for two thousand years now.

Aka since the day you were born, it is already end-times kasi di naman permanente ang buhay. so on the average, mga 60 years ang span ng "end-times". yung signs na malapit na yung end-times eh pag may cancer or aids ka na. yung sinabi ni hesus na no one knows when the end time is kasi nga naman, di mo alam kung kelan ka mamamatay. kahit magsuicide ka kasi may mga factors pa rin gaya ng tibay ng lubid, kung tama ba aim mo, o kung tama ba landing mo, o lethal ba yung dosage. kung kometa man ang babangga sa mundo, may mga factors pa rin gaya ng nuclear weapons etc.

Yung Saint Malachy, yun yung end-times for the Church, not the individual.

Sa parehong End-times ng Church and the individual, parehong may recurring theme. Judgement Day.
